so i start an art class tonight with Dean Howell. this guy is an amazing Santa Fe artist and i'm really stoked to have the chance to pick his brain. we went to his show last week and i was blown away. really cool stuff...check it out. i'm going to learn how to work with clay at first and then will see where it takes me from there. i love sculpture and this guy is a badass with clay, bronze, metal, painting... he does it all. i want to learn how to combine mediums like metal, clay and paint to do different kinds of sculpture. more than what i've been able to do on my own. i know enough to know i don't know anything, so... if anything, it will be a good time and i'm always up for some fun. i went to art school as a kid and quit after a year and a half. the competition/ critique part of it ruined my little art world. so i dropped my paintbrush and went on the road with a rock band and did'nt do art for years. now i'm inspired again and have been having fun welding stuff and calling it art. i think i'm ready to try something new. Dean has been telling me our class will be casual and small ( four students) and his studio is only a mile away from my house. i get a really good feeling from this guy and met the others in the class, and i don't feel intimidated at all, not yet anyway. i know i'll be ok... i mean fuck it, its just art right?

sometimes everyone sucks, i got a blue monday goin on.

we have been very busy on Howdy Doody Mountain. everyone is happy here except Sondawg. i think he is lonely. he misses his girl and his band big time. he met some kids at school with a band who need a bass player, and they invited him to audition for their grroup. they asked him to join and he turned them down. he would rather play guitar and said they were to Ozzy/Iron Maiden like. he swings more to the alternative vibe...he's kinda shy and is having a hard time adjusting. the school is about 4 times bigger than his last one, but he is doing very well with his grades, so thats cool. so to try and settle him down, we bought him tix to Chicago for his Christmas break. my buddy boy has been through alot lately, he spent most of his summer in Europe and when he got back...we were moved. so its been rough for him. 16 is a tough age and i'm trying to be cool, but he's been a little dick lately. i'm taking him to see Danzig in Albaturkey this Saturday night. an old buddy from Cali works for him and is hooking us up. maybe that will cheer him up a little.

my girls are very happy and settled right in...no prob.
