She leaned her burnt toast slices against the wall,
Making a little card house.
Mary was 2 years old but she was born with a second brain,
A brain that held memories of a fallen earth billions of years old.
She developed gargantuan breasts.
By the time she was 13, she was known as Queen Slutbag.
She pwned all her classmates at geography, social studies, and math.
But she received abuse due to her inability to compete in athletics.
One day, Mary was sitting on the swings, frowning at her uselessly huge breasts. A boy sat on the next swing and looked over at her. She stifled a cry.
"Hey," said the boy. "Everyone says you're really smart, but you never hang out with anyone."
The boy was wearing military fatigues, but he looked like a softie. Mary liked him immediately.
"Everyone makes fun of me," she says. "Because I can't run very fast."
"Neither can a shark, but nobody messes with them, do they?"
Mary smiled. "I'm Mary. What's your name?"
"Lieutenant Crank. Call me Chuck."
/
Mary and Chuck were inseparable. One night, they lay under the stars.
"Tell me a secret you've never told anyone," said Chuck.
"I've told you lots of secrets."
"Tell me a really deep one."
Mary exhaled a long breath. It left a frosty billow between them.
"I was born with a second brain."
"Really?"
"Yeah. It tells me all kinds of stories. . . about the way the Earth used to be, before the ice age, way before anything really existed, when it was still forming out of primordial chaos. It helps me understand why people are so mean to each other."
Chuck sat up, drinking in the wonder of his girlfriend. Suddenly all her idiosyncrasies made sense to him.
"How does it tell you stories? Does it talk, like a voice in your head?"
"No. . . when I go to sleep, I go places. I have visions, dreams, and all kinds of stuff gets revealed to me. I witness all kinds of strange scenes, and when I Wake up I understand a lot about the Earth. And about being human."
"Phenomenal! I have those too when I sleep! I see all kinds of things, strange creatures, climates that are neither day nor night, different colors, unnamed in our language, and territories that seem to resemble the interior of my own mind! How marvelous. I feel shocked."
"Oh, Crank!"
They fell into a long embrace and fell asleep and dreamed one was a flame, and the other, a moth.
