I had to go to the doctor this week, and prescription prices are out of control. I really feel sorry for people who depend on them and can't afford them. The drug companies in this country seriously need to be regulated. And I don't have much faith in the government getting involved in health insurance since they screw up everything else they get involved in!
Happy Valentines Day to all my friends and all the SG's! You are all loved very much each and every day!
I just found out last night that a dear sweet friend had passed away. Steve Bator Sr, father of the late Stiv Bators (the Dead Boys and Lords of the New Church) passed away on Friday. He was one of the nicest people you'll ever meet and I cherish the time I spent with him and his wife Marion. He was deifinitely where Stiv got his smile. Rest in peace Steve and give Stiv a big hug for me.
I may not be on the internet much for the next week or so. My dsl modem died today, so I called Earthlink, and after running through the troubleshooting scripts that their "tech support" in India had (I spent 3 years doing tech support for high speed internet and these idiots were clueless), they said I needed a new modem. For which I would pay $39.99 for shipping and have to sign a new 1 year contract. After escalating the call to customer service and a manager (in India), I discovered that 11 years of being a loyal customer was not appreciated. Since i do have backup dial up, I did some shopping and called Verizon. For the same price I'm paying for 1.5 MBPS, Verizon will give me 7 MBPS, plus a discount on my phone bill. So , I'm waiting on my new Verizon modem, and for my service to be activated.
Eathlink's customer service has gone way downhill since their former CEO passed away. All you get is the runaround. It took them 3 months just to tell me there were no faster packages available. I started with Mindspring, who was great, but once Earthlink bought Mindspring the decline began.
So goodbye Earthlink. You suck. And it serves you right for outsourcing jobs to India, while we here in America (who pay your bills) have many people who would not only love to have those jobs, but would provide much better service.

Today I turn 46. Any of you young women want a geezer? Only 4 more years and I get my AARP card. Also this weekend, the local paper had a misprint and put my phone number in the paper instead of the number for the travel agency they were supposed to list. That was a lovely surprise.
Damn! We lost Patrick Swayze. He was a really nice guy and I had the honor of working with him on Dirty Dancing. I had so much faith that he was going to beat cancer. He was a fighter to the end. Damn you grim reaper!
I opened my paycheck this week, and got a big surprise........an unexpectedly huge bonus! I love my job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And in sadder news, we mourn the loss of a genius named Les Paul. He reinvented the electric guitar, and invented multi-track recording among other accomplishments. Without him , millions of guitar players would never have picked the guitar up. He kept millions of kids (including me) from following the wrong path in life, and becoming something evil, like a lawyer, or a politician. Here's to you Les (raises pint glass in tribute), thank you for everything!

Finally! Dish Network/Echostar, my former employer is being sued in class action status for forcing employees to work off the clock. They have to be the worst job I have ever had, and I am so glad that I quit for a better job. Even though the economy is not at it's best, companies shouldn't take advantage of their employees. If you have ever been a Dish customer and had to go through 5 or 6 calls to get your issues resolved, it is because they are very Draconian towards their employees, meaning the more experienced people will either quit or be fired due to their totalitarianstic and unfair policies. If you are a current or former employee, I urge you to sign up. You worked,it's only fair you got compensated for the time.

After only being at my new job for 3 months, last week I was handed the biggest account of the year. I've busted my ass for the last week and a half, but today I finally finished the order for over $46, 000. The customer is thrilled, my bosses seem happy, and I'm exhausted! Another week and I'm on vacation. I love my job!
