hola cupcake. i almost dropped out of art school for psych or social work training. rd laing was s/t i read in classes b/c one prof. admired his work. he was really a philosopher at heart i think. i gave a few books of his away years back to someone --- damn person never gave em back. ahahha. his bio is interesting. the book on schizophrenia that i felt most into was the one he wrote with another dr/ -- sanity madness and the family. based on his research and own exp. with the "house" he had set up to treat them without meds. growing up with crazy people made me interested in psych. i kind of don't read this stuff any longer but it def. formed my mind in my 20's...he def. was a non conformist and hated the way the psych. prof. treated those in need of it...

The Rufus' baby on Feb. 29th thing.. Rufus Wainwright is a (very) gay and somewhat famous musician. Febuary 29th doesn't happen every year. So the two very unlikely events would amuse me to the fullest.

Also, I'm not actually in the Dakotas anymore.. just my zipcode doesn't register on this site. I live in Iowa (haha, I know) but the "scene" is much better here. Moving to a Des Moines in September.. so that'll be all good. (For the record, after college, I plan on moving west. Probably Oregon or Washington.)

I believe, the main reason I complain about my weight, is because I know the hampering effects it's having on my life. I'd like to be able to run up the steps to my third story apartment without being out of breath, you know?

Si senor! It was in fact from a fall. I dont have to worry much about hurting myself in a fall nowadays seeing as I am five feet tall and pretty damn close to the ground.
