No matter what the field of analysis, it takes a certain mindset to be an analyst of any sort. You need discipline, the ability to focus, attention to detail, curiosity, motivation. I have very little of any of these attributes quite frankly, but here I am.....an inventory control analyst.
There are national and international societies dedicated to my current field. Who'd have thought? They have yearly conventions, just to meet and discuss inventory controls and data analysis. Could ya just die from the excitement?
Inventory analysis, while very dry sounding, can be rewarding in a number of ways, not the least of which is monetarily. A sense of accomplishment for a job well done is one reward. Satisfaction in being able to solve or resolve a customer issue, an unexplained number variance, or a botched invoice is another.
Another "perk" if you will, is having an inventory system that once properly set up, does most of your work for you. I have such a system at my disposal. I am lucky. I can do my job remotely if needs be, or by spending a couple of hours every day following steps throughout the system. Another "perk" is having friends in your IT office who help you set up a proxy server so you can groove on Suicide Gurls all day long while reports run in the background.

Lazy weekends rock, but I feel guiilty about not doing stuff...
I SHOULD BE:
- doing yardwork
- cleaning the crap outta the vehicles and prepping the jeep for camping in two weeks
- getting some excercise - walking, hiking, pushups, anything....
- figuring out a creative way to get out of a particular sticky jam I've been in for WAAAAAY to fucking long
- doing laundry
- saving money and not going to the bar all the time
- playing some music with other humans
- recording some new music
- FUNCTIONING as a human, as a husband, as a father.
Oh well.....maybe I'll just look at more pictures

I have nothing useful to blog about today. I didn't feel like working, new man in the office mans the phones on a holiday Monday like this...so I did nothing but cruise SG all day as the phones were dead.
All good I suppose...going to go play some blues with friends tonight and lighten my soul's burden. That is all.
