saving boobs with tattoos!
i'll be shooting the FFOC breast cancer charity event tonight! this is probably my only foray into documentary filmmaking, but it's still pretty damn exciting.
"As a unique alternative to traditional reconstructive surgery, renowned New York City tattoo artists will be creating custom body art for selected women who have undergone a total or partial mastectomy. The evening will feature a Breast Cancer survivor Fashion show, authentic belly dance performance by Layla Isis, musical performance by Semi Precious Weapons, and delectable cuisine by Chef April Bloomfield of celebrated downtown gastro-pub, The Spotted Pig."

two very long shooting days & a sore throat later and now we head to editing and post.
the actors were great, the band was great, my DP was great... let's hope i'm half as good as any of 'em.
so i got that goin' for me... which is nice.
i'll also be the voice behind the blog for bodega skateboards starting next week, if anyone has the urge to check that out from time to time.

pretty excited. my friends courtney and christine are opening a new bar tonight in brooklyn. this is the first weekend ever. they built the place from gravel and it will no doubt be a force to behold.
sweet revenge. the name alone rolls off my tongue like whiskey.
added to a video shoot on sunday that is no where near ready or prepared, i've got one hell of a weekend ahead of me.
so first... i nap.

ok. so i've been working on some music videos as of late. we did this one that premiered yesterday on MTV's TRL and one that will premiere tomorrow. the first one is for a band called alll time low. the video is super fun and the guys are pretty rad too.
so, they invite us (myself and my friend travis, the director) to go to the warp tour, which is something i haven't been a part of since maybe 2002. no problem, it'll be fun, i've gone there to skate a million times, i know the protocol, right? no.
this time we were VIP. and not like, "ok you can go where the bands go" VIP. we were all "total access to do whatever the fuck you feel like" VIP. most of the bands didn't get the same treatment... it was good.
we had access to a tent full of catered food, top shelf liquor, video games and beer pong. really... beer pong tables were set up to play. we could move any of the barriers and go sit on the stage with any band if we decided to do so. we were drunkenly skating through the crowd making total asses of ourselves, making shit to skate out of scrap wood in the middle of the vendor's area. it was a good day.
while all time low was playing i got hit it the face with a pair of panties.
cause, honestly... look where we were sitting.

I'm a big boy and sometimes i do things out of the kindness of my heart and expect no reward.
however...
I haven't gotten a thimble full of credit for driving the ex and her completely ungrateful pain in the ass of a sister 8 fucking hours in the pouring rain.
and that was only one way!
i could even be fine with no recognition IF i wasn't being yelled at the entire fucking trip!
i know
i know... i should have let either one of them drive, right?
both are too afraid of driving (from the proper seat, of course). BUT sit one of them shotgun and the other in the back and it's a drive by proxy yell fest.
next time, ladies... take the fucking train!
I'm over it.

limbo has ended and i've entered even more uncertain territory in my life.
but if you can't have fun regardless of the rough stuff you're doing something wrong.
that being said... now that my life is upside down i decided to throw a party. so i photoshopped together an invitation and headed into the great unknown.
you're all invited of course.

(i'll be in the booth playing music... a lot like millie vanillie's manager, or the wizard from oz)

last month i went to peurto rico with 7 of my friends.
we flew from island to island in a plane no bigger than my shoe. i don't think either of the pilots we were granted the privledge of flying with were over 21.
but once we got there... paradise.
that, and there are stray horses on the island of vieques.
no shit.

what a fuckin weekend!
thursday i stayed out just a bit too late.
i remained drunk until 3pm on friday... which could always be interpreted as fun if i didn't have to work in an office at 10am. got there at noon and blamed my spaceyness on cold medicine. everyone seemed to buy my story until one of the owners of the company approached my desk and in a flamboyant german accent (think big labowski) exclaimed, "woooohooo! where's za paah-ty?"
i brought up the cold medicine schtick and he only added, "no boobie, dat vuz a compliment... it gets so stuffy around here." (no really, say it in that, "vee vant zuh money labowski" accent)
on saturday i did things that put everything i've done before into perspective. wow.
seriously...
wow.
