Blah I have to go go an offsite all day menu meeting. I love changing menus but I hate having to sit around talking about it all day. Hope your days are good SG.
Pretty great weekend. Yesterday I was off and we all went sledding along with TreeThingBlue and his daughter and the babysitter and her two kids. It was about 25 degrees and sunny. The girls lasted about three hours which was pretty amazing. We took the babysitters eldest home and had lunch and hung out.

After a chill we took the girls to my mom's for the night. We ate ate a very nice local sourced food restaurant here in town. Our server ended up being I guy I had worked with before so we had a fun time. The wife was entranced by the description of the 8 course tasting and so that is what we had. I love doing tastings but the wife had never had one before. By the end the look of glee twisted together with agony as yet another course was set before her was priceless. Actually it was two hundred dollars with drinks and that was without the optional wine pairings with each course which would have doubled it. It was very cool although I had to eat two kinds of foam.
1. Hamachi - It was a little stack of raw fish and guacamole and some foam.
2. Nested egg - poached egg rolled in a wonton with field greens and several little sauce dots. Very cool
3. Carrot Veloute - The wife had a tamarind glazed scallop in it mine had polenta cake the soup was finished with maple syrup and chai foam
4. House Andouille with root veg and caramelized onion puree. Awesome dish.
5. Beef Cheeks with cous cous - Sous Vide beef cheeks in thin slices with cous cous and a couple little sauces.
6. Braised Lamb Shank - with a gremolata and turnips. Easily my favorite.
7. Flash Fried Pound Cake - yep with powdered blueberries and cranberry chunks
8. Peanut butter chocolate ice cream sandwich with chocolate sauce and peanut brittle.
Fun time good food and cocktails. Then we got the UFC fight. First female UFC fight ever. Great fight, really a great card all around. Great night cap. Slept in had some breakfast and some more lovin. Now I am thinking about what to make for dinner. Have fun SG.
Day off number two. I have my smoker full of rib tips at the behest of the wife. I am going out to lunch with my mom here in a bit.

Two days off in a row! Woohoo!. Of course I spent the first waking hour of my time off at the DMV so, not a very auspicious start but that part is over. I don't know how one comes to have the job of DMV attendant but none of them look happy to be there. I got in line my number was 159 and the first number they called was 183. That was confusing the shit out of people. But it came around again and I managed to get the one guy that was having fun with it and not the surly, still drunk looking, flannel clad, scruffy, jerk that was the other option. I noticed sitting there that about half of the people that enter the dmv leave without having completed their business. They never make it past the first person and leave shaking their heads and muttering obscenities to themselves. Muttering obscenities is forbidden in the dmv they have a sign that states that on the wall. Of course, I couldn't take a picture of the sign because you also can't use your cell phone at the counter. I got a perfect on my test and I have taken worse pictures so it was a success.
I am trying to get the wife to come home for lunch. It may work. Until then I am doing some laundry and watching some naked people do their thing. I don't know how laundry and porn have come to be linked in my brain but they are. As long as there is a little moaning and skin slapping in the background I can fold clothes all day. I guess it is two things I don't really have to focus on that I can do at the same time. I need to do a bunch of other things around the house but not today.

Ok so the DMV was a bust because of freaking Lincoln's birthday. So I am still driving dirty but I will try again this tuesday.
Work is retarded. Yesterday I stirred a little shit. They want to give someone the job of butcher basically for consistency sake. I texted the owner when I got home to see what it would pay because with the amount of time I am working now even though I make what i asked for I am still making like 11 bucks an hour which is crazy. The more I work the less I make. He kind of freaked but it should work out in my favor. I can't be the butcher but he agreed that I was working too much. He is taking over scheduling and tonight he hounded me out the door two hours early and I ate dinner with my family for a change.
V day was fine. I got the wife candy and she bought me sausage(jalepeno bison sausage). The girls got stuffed things and candy.

Commenting on things feels odd because it is too much like texting and my brain wants an immediate response like its a conversation and not just a shout in the wind. I finally figured out that the best time for me to take a break is the same time my counter parts start to get busy, I can check in with the wife and here and no one fucks with me because I have already been there for six hours and they are just starting. I am glad we hired the new guy I worked with tonight. He is my age and he really seems to know his shit.

I have to go to the DMV tomorrow. My license expired on my birthday and I forgot. blah. After that I think I am going to the Asian grocery and make the girls a bombsy dinner. I have been wanting to make egg rolls for a couple weeks and I want to do a couple different kinds of noodles and find some cool looking vegetables. The Ziz was a little bummed I didn't cook sunday night so I need to Daddy up and make her one to light her eyes up.

Ready for my day off. We made a couple of hires one of which was my buddy so we are finally getting things done. I had a pop up party for a hundred and five people which made for an interesting friday. Tonight was busy but pretty smooth.
Ms Sun had a friend over last night. They got a bunch of movies and had popcorn and stayed up late. They finally passed out about 11. At 11:30 a crazy police chase paused briefly in front of our house. Ms Sun was the only one of the girls that woke up but it scared the crap out of her. The wife was outside having a smoke when it came by. The car that was leading the chase turned down the alley one house down from us for some reason. It was then followed down the alley by three cop cars and three cop suvs. It was rowdy loud and cop lights lit up the whole house for a minute or two since they basically all had to stop to turn down the freaking alley. That isn't the first time someone has been chased past my house but no one has ever turned down the alley. It happened to late to make the paper and I haven't seen any local news so I don't know what it was about. It wouldn't surprise me if it was just a drunk guy trying to make it home.
I think I am going to have a little bourbon and troll sg. See you around

happy birthday to me. It has been an ok day. I worked and they got me cake and a card. I had a couple uncomfortable meetings about my boss and my best prep guy with the owner. He is talking about sending me to california for a week this summer to go to five day course at the CIA. That would be cool.
The girls got me a funny card and a cd, a book about Willie Nelson, a shirt and nail clippers since they have lost all mine. My mom got me a stick blender which is something I have wanted for a while and I bought her one for xmas. I got some pics of my cake I will post later. I am off peace SG.
