Good lazy day off. I picked up my brother at the airport and hung out with the girls and my nephew all afternoon at my mom's. I grilled up a mess of chicken and asparagus and we had mashed potatoes, slaw and watermelon. Good time. I only have one niece and one nephew and no real good prospects for any more anytime soon. This little dude is only 9 months old and I can't wait to buy boy toys for once. The wife loves playing with a baby. luckily this one was fussy enough to qwell any baby jones that might arise. We are content to stay at two. I am off to flip between my bull riding and bmx. Have fun.biggrin

Today I got a suprise in the mail, Bill Hicks the Essential Collection. It was only a suprise because I forgot that I ordered it a few weeks ago. I know that he's been dead a while but if you have don't know bill Hicks "you betta axe somebody" cause that shit is funny. He is a little dark but I recommend him. Today _trouble_ asked for truths in her blog. I am sure I will come across a few new one watching/ listening to this collection.

Some great sets in MR right now. I don't have to say go look at them because that is why we are here. Have Fun.biggrin

I have been looking for this clip for a frigging month because it is one of the funniest things ever "he said dude have you seen Brittney Spears' vagina? like he left it in my room.". I laugh every time I hear it.

I made today suck because I was already pissed about how stupid tomorrow is going to be. I didn't figure out how stupid that was until the ride home. I turned one shitty day into two. live and learn. have fun.biggrin

Back to life. This weekend was great, the hog was huge and delicious. We threw down, two nights of great party. There was a trailer full of great beers and a table full of handles of liquor. I know there were three handles of crown when we started and a quarter of a bottle when we were leaving and I know I played a part in that. The music was great, we round robined threw a pile of musicians and everyone got to play for a while in various formations. It was great and we had a blast. The night I stayed up tending the hog the wife made it to five a.m. before she had me take her home, I was impressed. After two days of party, on no sleep, we skipped six flags. Maybe next time.

My mom watched the girls while we were out of town. She is having her bathroom redone so she stayed with them at our house. We have these locks on our doors that tend to lock themselves when you close the door and everyone that visits locks themselves out from time to time, even us, so of course the girls managed to lock her out while they were all outside and mom's purse was inside aso they got to break in to the house through the window in our bed room. That is how the guy broke into the house last year. They didn't call and say " hey the window is broken in your room" so when we got home and saw that I was sure we had another break in stopped the car immediately and ran inside ready to kill someone only to find everything was still here and the window had been boarded up from the inside. When I called her to see wtf she told me the story and told me she wanted to buy us some new windows because ours fell apart too easily. She will replace the on she broke and the other on on that side of the house to get started. Wooo hoo, home improvement.

That is all I got for now. Have fun!

We are packing to go to Saint Louis to the wedding. We are going to go to six flags on sunday morning if they are open. I am super psyched to throw down on a hog and have a rowdy bluegrass Jam-bo-ree. I should get off here and get packing. Have a great weekend SG peeps.biggrin

I am getting psyched for the weekend. It has been a while since I have cooked a whole hog and this is the crowd to cook one for. This will be a gathering of the last of my rowdy friends and we are leaving the kids at home. My buddy wants his bachelor party to be drinkin' and pickin' till its time to through the hog on at three. There will be a ton of great pickers at this wedding and I can't wait.

Work will be screwed a bit with me gone. Even though she knew that I had this wedding going on before I was hired and I reminded her many times she still booked a party for the saturday I'm gone. They will also have open dining so I made the specials super easy and cheap and I spent the whole day getting ahead on prep so that all they have to do is fire everything. I bet they still manage to screw it up. I will be out of state and variously intoxicated. Pickin' and Grinin'biggrin

note to self: even though you do a dead on impression of the flute player from Jethro Tull and his spritely one legged stance, do not do it in six year old work pants unless you have a spare pair in the car.biggrinfrownbiggrin shredded from nutz to knee lmfao!

I finally worked a day that was less than 12 hours! Woo Hoo! I am sure my evening is all planned for me but since no one knows I am off I am just going to burn one down and check out SG. So many great blogs today, lots of pics and glad tidings. It is making me jones for a trip somewhere. Next weekend we are going down to STL for my buddies wedding. I will be doing the food. I am smoking a whole hog and doing a corn boil. I will finally be using the turkey fryer the wife bought me on our first married christmas even if it will be to boil corn. She always says that she sucks at buying me gifts because I never use them. That is not necessarily true, in the case of this turkey fryer I just haven't had an opportunity to cook a big party outside until now. Next week it will totally have been worth toting it across three states for ten years. I would say come meet me in STL but I think my time is pretty well spoken for. The wife wants to go to six flags for a roller coaster fix. If that happens I'll announce it on here and see if any STL SG want to come out and play. Everyone seems to have pics of the SG people they have met, why not give it a try?

One cool thing I saw today for the first time was Sweet potato tots. Yes that's right, tator tots made out of sweet potato. I am gonna bring them home for the girls to try. I can see them now on processed turkey loaf day in school cafeterias every where. one thing about school lunch, I remember in grade school everyone making a big deal about Reagan saying that ketchup was a vegtable as a way to cut cost in school lunch. Yesterday for lunch at Ms. Suns school was mozzerella sticks and a brownie. Does that seem like a healthy lunch to you. Granted she loves mozz stix as much as I do and was super psyched ( except that she is allergic to chocolate so her brownie was pointless) but if we have school lunch in part so that these kids are getting at least one good meal a day, should that meal be fried cheese and chocolate cake. I remember school food was not good, but at least used to try. Maybe I'm just hatin' because I wish I had gotten fried cheese for lunch when I was seven. I didn't even kniow it existed until I started going to Denny's late night in highschool. Any way, I have a Toots song in my head I must go find soooo peace out SG. Have Fun.

Today was kind of a mixed bag.

Good day for the girls both have started school and the wife started her new class today. The Ziz had a great first day at pre school and Ms. Sun aced her first spelling test. It is also the one year anniversary of my dad's death which is a bummer. It is not a day I want to keep track of my whole life but it is hard to avoid so far. We ate dinner with my mom and hung out with her. She was doing good considering but she appreciated the company I'm sure. I had plans to go eat lunch at a place we used to frequent and have a few beers and a braunschweiger sandwhich in his memory but I was on kid pick-up duty so I settled for fried chicken and a coke. So now I raise a Stag in memory of my dad, he was my best friend and mentor even if I didn't realize it in time to thank him.

This was the first song i ever bought, it was on 45 record.

my dad was a John Denver fanatic and this was one of his favorites it is also appropriate for this time since we seem to have a ton of them and I DIDN'T PLANT ANY.
