Today starts the my "vacation" from real work to cooking for the week for my mom's church group 5 days of 200 people breakfast lunch and dinner. The wife and I do the cooking and my mom comes down and helps out for one breakfast. It is fun but exhausting. My real job has been a real bitch the last couple of weeks. I need the break to be honest, even if it is an "out of the frying pan into the fire" type trade off.
The wife worked today to make up some time so the girls and I watched the Ramona movie and then went to the park with TreeThingBlue and his daughter. They had a great time and it was good to get out in the sun since it was so cool today. The girls have their hearts set on a pizza day so it will be so. I don't mind a pizza myself.

I am no longer childless. The girls came home today. It is good to have them back though it was good to be just the two of us for a week. Work has been crazy busy and exhausting. With no AC it is already retarded hot in the kitchen. It was almost 100 today. My fuse gets a little shorter in the heat. I am pretty hard to piss off and yesterday I let 4 pieces of chicken piss me off for 20 hours. I went to bed pissed, though the wife tried mightily to improve my mood, and woke up still aching with pissy-ness. It was a touch insane. I have to work on Monday so tomorrow is my only day off. It will be good to chill with the girls since the house is already clean.
I haven't been on much this weekend and I haven't read anyone's stuff for a couple days. Hey, hows it goin'? My childless week is going great. Sunday the wife wanted to eat her mushrooms so we did. They weren't super potent but we had a great time chilling together and feeling awesome. Monday we were pretty wiped out but we rallied after lunch and got the house clean. I watched four things about the civil war and like six episodes of river monsters while cleaning and folding clothes.
Last night I told the wife that she could have me buy and make what ever she wanted for late dinner since we both had stuff going on. She chose fried pork chops with mashed potatoes and pan gravy. That sounded good to me then i remembered that that was the meal that she had me cook her when she decided to come back to the fold and stop being a vegetarian. She called me 11 years ago and after we had been dating for a month and asked me "if I bring home pork chops will you fry them for me?". Of course it was midnight but I said hell yes come home right now. That pretty well sealed the deal for me. I knew she was the one. Once I started cooking for a living I had pretty well ruled out ever dating seriously or marrying a vegetarian. Such a restrictive "life style choice" was not for me and screw cooking two dinners my whole life. Up until then she had been testing my resolve because in every other aspect she was great. Tomorrow is my 10th anniversary and that is probably why I am thinking like this.
We watched Green Hornet the other night. It was pretty good for a comic movie.

Man it is good to be home with a cold Stag and a bowl. The wife is out with one of her friends for a while and I have a quiet house. Tomorrow the girls go to Kansas for a week. Hell yes. This has already put the wife in a great mood. I noticed this this morning when, after she took the girls to school, she returned home and we had the flaming polka dotted unicorn of love making to me, wife initiated morning sex. That shit doesn't happen to me, ever. She is also getting excited to go out for our anniversary though I am still not sure what that will entail.
I too drove home in the storm TreeThingBlue has the awesome pics of but a couple hours later and about 70 miles north. The wife called to tell me that the TV said that anyone driving where I was should pull off. I of course said screw that it isn't that bad. Three minutes later I was pulled over with crazy wind and hail. Evidently I was a couple of miles from a tornado but I couldn't see it In Kansas I saw two at the same time once but in Illinois I never see them. Oops I am neglecting my beer. Have fun SG.

Summer is almost upon us. Today was both of my daughters last full day of school.. Ms Sun had an awards ceremony where she won 5 awards. I wish I could have been there for that. One of the awards was for getting the most awards but all of the other ones was legit. One of them was a metal one so she wore it all day like Ms. T. My brother also got coined by a general today for the work he has done in Colorado. I am nmot clear on how that all works but it is the second time it has happened so he must be doing something right.
Another weird thing today was that at the benefits fair that my wife was hosting she saw a chick wearing an SG hoodie. They couldn't have much of a conversation about it because the place they work is super churchy and uptight. Still, that is pretty rare around here and it was cool to know there are more around besides me and the Tree Thing. That's it for now. Have Fun.

Pretty cool day all around. Woke up to the girls cleaning their own room with out being asked. We cooked a fat ass breakfast and then chilled all day. The girls came back from their birthday party with water guns so we had an epic water gun war that spilled out into the yard. It was a fun time. Grilled a little pork after the thunderstorm passed and the girls played outside while the wife did some work stuff and I serenaded her with the greatest alterno hits of the mid 90s on my guitar. It is amazing how many of the words I can remember. I am ready to have the day off tomorrow by myself so I can finish the laundry and get set for the week in my head. The boss is on vacation all this week which doesn't change my job at all but makes all of the other parts of the club a little less organized. It just makes everyone else more stressed when she is gone. Three weeks till my big catering for the church group. After that I am going to buy a banjo and try to learn it again. I gave my last one to a guy that could play but had a shitty banjo because I just couldn't seem to get it. This time I am going to try to do more of a claw hammer style because I can't roll worth a shit. Oh well I'm out.
Pretty up and down weekend. Good things, I got to chill with my nephew, I went to Ms. Suns school picnic, planted my dad's memorial tree, lots of things went well. I have yet another funeral to go to but that shit will happen I suppose. The picnic was kind of a trip. Her class is rowdy even for second grade and not very many parents actually showed up. Making them eat before letting them hit the park was like trying to hold back a pack of sled dogs, so it was short and sweet. She was super happy that I came and I got to meet a few of her friends. I also got to see the boy that had been giving her jewelry. I'm keeping an eye on him lol. I am off to bed. I just wanted to write this because I was totally thwarted yesterday by my own dumb ass when I clicked the wrong thing and erased the much more eloquent blog I had written. peace.

sorry I can't get any thing to load. I haven't been able to put any youtube stuff on here for like a month. I thought it was youtube but everyone else seems to be posting videos so it must be me. What changed, I used to be able to do it no problem? I thought it might be copy right issues but I can't even use the videos that regular douchers put on there. What am I doing wrong?

I don't usually blog to days in a row but gotta say this. I took a gamble a year ago and left my seven year, good paying, sous job to go be exec at a little club north of me and everyone thought that I was crazy. Crazy for leaving my good job that i hated, crazy for working at a red neck country club in a shady little town, crazy for taking a substantial pay cut for what ended up being more work. All this was with the understanding that when I proved to them that I could turn things around up there that they would pay up but it was a hand shake kind of deal and my faith in people is minimal. Today I had a meeting with "the Bobs" and they are very happy with my $40,000 turn around on the year(the last 2 years they lost money and this year we made money) and with the food quality and menu and really everything. They seemed mostly concerned that I was happy and intending to stay. I got a 12% raise and we talked about their intentions to replace my boss with me when she retires next year so that they can give me more money. I am still not making as much as at the hotel but I am also not a miserable asshole quite so much these days. I consider it a worth while trade. So I am somewhat vindicated and the wife will be happy to have more in the budget.
Now i must get ready to go to my youngest daughters school program. She will be singing three songs with her class. These kind of things are always a blast because little kids are so unpredictable. You never know who is going to stand there and spin or jump off the stage or pee themselves and cry, it's like midget Jerry Springer with out the fights. It is always an adventure. Have fun SG.
