I just got back from spending ten days in Edmonton with no real internet access, I missed SG like nobodies' business. It was a great trip, and made me remember how many good friends I still have back there.
Why does time move so quickly when I'm not there to watch it? My friends' babies are all fully functional people now. I was having fun chats with young people who I remember as being wiggly little bowls of jelly. It all adds to the "I'm getting old" feelings I've been dealing with as the big "three oh" comes sneaking around the corner.
I found out that a family I've known for years has moved since I was last in Edmonton. The very nice pregnant lady who has moved into their old house sure seemed shocked to see me walk through her front door. I'm lucky I didn't get nailed with a B & E.
Gifts were good on both the giving and recieving ends. Easily topping the list of goodies for me are motorcycle lessons and a very happy sized tattoo gift certificate.

Everyone bet on Edmonton to win the Grey Cup right? 'Cause I told you they'd win. Let this be a lesson to you, I am always right. 
If anyone missed the game on Sunday, it was fantastic. Seriously, it was one of the best football games I've seen in years. Capping it off with an Edmonton overtime win was icing on the cake.
Next sport for Edmonton to dominate: hockey. Oh yes, this will be the year.

I wouldn't complain if they wanted to run through a few rounds of oil wrestling to warm up either.
Honest to god, how can two people be so damn smart and so blindingly hot all at the same time?

Friday night the charming Didi and I went down to Lucky to see a Rockabilly show and watch the lovely Bettina shake her sweet burlesque booty.
The lovely Bettina was, of course, beautiful and a delight to watch. Did I mention hot? Yeah, she is really, really hot.
The charming Didi is cute as a box full of kittens. She seemed happy to listen to me babble away all night long, which makes her all good in my books. Also smokin' hot.
The bands were alright.
The crowd was tame.
The bar is a toilet, but I love it.
All in all I give the night 3 and a half ounces of scotch out of a possible 5.
I am just a little worried about the picture Didi took of us at the end of the night. Might hurt my chances to be Prime Minister some day.
