Time for another Monday update!
Do you hate my predicatableness yet? Sometimes I do.
First off, here's some pictures from when Jimcurt99 was still up here, and I took him and Ceri for cupcakes at my favorite coffee shop, here in Renton: Common Grounds.
I love the Boston Cream cupcake
Corey and I had been scouring craiglist for a "new" car for me. Thursday, we drove out to Lynnwood (which is just up ast Corey's work in Seattle) to look at a car. Well, it turned out to be a bust. Really...a station wagon with a fart can exhuast? WTF?
The good thing about being out that way though, was Corey took me to my favorite fish and chips place on Alki beach. It was a relatively overcast day, but still pretty warm. And true to Washington style, there were volleyball nets set up on the beach, teens in swimsuits and shirtless, and bonfires. We finished our dinner, went next door to Tully's and wandered the beach for a while.
I felt like Seattle incarnate, sitting in the sand on an overcast day, drinking Seattle coffee
Oh, and here's saying good bye to my old car, which I got to kick a couple of times before the tow truck came, hauled it away, and handed me a check for $240.
I got bored after work on Friday, and decided to work on some clay figures I'd been putting off. So here they are
(he is ready to be made into a necklace...or something else dangly)
and these I could probably make into pins or barrettes.
And these are definitely for sale, and I'll also attempt requests.
Friday night, continuing our Craigslist search, we stumbled upon a listing for a '95 Chevy S10 blazer, for $700. Corey called the seller, talked to him about potential issues with the car, relayed those to his father (who worked as a chevy mechanic for YEARS) and we made plans to see the car, with cash in hand on Saturday. We had to buy a battery since the one in the car was dead as hell.
Well...we bought it. I have a car again! There were some minor fixes that cost...oh about $100, then needed new tires, another $160. And I still have to get the title in my name, and tabs and all that. But overall, I'm super happy!
The portraits by the one and only Jimcurt99 are still up for sale, because I need to replenish Corey and I's savings account, to prepare for more big expenses, like moving out, and the airfare to Texas for the wedding (and the bridesmaid dress for said wedding).
I could really, really use the financial help. So feel free to PM if you have questions, or want to get a clay commission, a print (of portrait, or photos). I don't want to ask you guys to just send me money without some sort of compensation.
We also had Bailey dog all weekend, and yesterday was a gorgeous day! So we played outside all day, and took them to the pond, so I snapped some nature-y photos
and my lovely...picking wild daisies for his mom (hehehehehe)
Yesterday was also cookie baking day
and there were a lot of lemons that were skinned but the rest was left over
I'm thinking about making lemonade. We'll see.
Well, I think I'll get back to clay molding, and finishing cleaning my new car. I scrubbed the exterior for close to 2 hours saturday, and the interior for maybe 3 hours....yuck. But now it's pretty, and mine, and smells good!
don't forget that I'll be in MR again in a few months! I'm super excited! Go love on my amazing photographer Audrisa
