So, shit's been hectic to say the least. However I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, which is always a wonderful sign. This weekend was are opening day for little league and although all of the games were cancelled due to the weather we at least got our parade, opening ceremonies and Hall of Fame Inductions in. It was very humbling for me because I got to induct a very good family friend's late-father who busted his ass to better the organization, but was kicked out of the league for no good reason. Ironically my first coach, back when I played t-ball, was also inducted into the Hall of Fame, even crazier he actually remembered me and it's been 26 years.
Tonight my girls have their first game and I know that my daughter is very excited, hell she "had" to wear her jersey to school today. I just hope my girls come through, because I've been talking shit to all of the other t-ball managers letting them know that my team (which is all girls) is going to destroy their teams (which are all boys). I originally thought that the girls or the parents might take issue with how the team ended up all girls, but it seems that the more that I separate them from the boys, the more that they're all buying into it. Instead of wearing hats like the boys they're wearing visors. Once the weather breaks and it continues to stay warm they'll switch from the pants to the shorts. It was funny to see it sink in on Saturday once they realized that like the other all girls teams they didn't have hats like the boys, however it just makes me realize how smart these 4, 5 and 6 year olds are to even notice what I thought was an insignificant detail, which appeared to be huge in their eyes.
Anyway, I hope all is good with everyone out in SG Land.
