So I wrote this graphic novel called Local. It was just published in a collected hardcover, and right now you can read what I feel is the best story from it here, for free:

It's a book I am massively proud of, and something I think any of you guys would appreciate.
About the book: From Brian Wood (Demo, DMZ, Northlanders) and Ryan Kelly (Lucifer, American Virgin) comes Local, a collection of twelve interconnected short stories. Crossing genres as it crosses the country, Local examines Megan McKeenan, a young woman who sets off from Portland, OR with nothing but a backpack and a bad case of wanderlust. Each emotional vignette is a self-contained story that represents one year in the life of this young vagabond as she struggles to find a place to call home, both physically and spiritually. You can get it on Amazon pretty cheap.

I used to be more active here. Now I lurk from time to time and check in with friends. But who's out there still? Anyone receiving me?
So I write comics and graphic novels. In fact, I write so many of them I forget to update this blog, here. Some new books and a preview artwork from last week's Comic-Con.

This is Audrey is her new room the other day when we stopped by to turn on the fridge and check to make sure the keys work. I guess at some point she'll get furniture, maybe.
We move on August 10th, mere days away. My mailing address is changing, obviously. I sent out a couple mass emails with the new one, but undoubtedly missed a few people, so if anyone out there has my address in the first place and didn't get an update, email me. Also, my PO Box, better known at the Northern Boy address and the contact listed in Local, is no longer valid.
One of the new trains I'll be using is the B train, my new favorite express train. One stop to Prospect Park, two stops to 7th Ave and Flatbush. I thought the Q was handy. I'll be saying goodbye forever to the F train - no love lost there, and also welcoming the 2 and 5 in certain circumstances. Other bonuses of the new location: very short walking distance to the Shakespeare & Co. at Brooklyn College, my new destination when walking Audrey. And soon - a Target! Targets in New York City are little mini-Meccas.
This move is coming in the nick of time, as you can see above that Audrey is nearly crawling. She can lurch forward a few feet at a time, so in days she'll be zipping around. Our current apartment is really not designed for crawling babies, with its stone floors and steps up and down, so the sooner we get her into her new place and baby-proof it the better.
