GOD-DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! CAN UCLA BEAT FLORIDA IN A TOURNAMENT GAME! I'm still drunk from Sat.nite's throttling. I even flew back to LA to watch the game on campus. It's like we fell apart. But I do wish the Gators the best of luck..and expect much ribbing when I return to Fla. I suspect the Buckeyes won't match up
against the Gators, and we shall see in a few short hours.
against the Gators, and we shall see in a few short hours.
Well it's been a while since my last post. April 1, to be exact. UCLA lost to Florida and I had to get drunk. But since then things have been better. UCLA upset USC and knocked them out of the BCS title game, and the
basketball team is ranked 1. This year's team is better than the last. We'll see in April.
Anyone play chess?Come to my coffee store's chess tourney!

GO BRUINS! I'm happy for my boys..came back to LA just to
watch the game. If only I hadn't gone east for the academics
I could proudly say I'm a UCLA alum. Alas, I went there but
one year. Anyhow, good luck tonite. Hopefully I'll be sober
enough to remember when the nets are cut down for a 12th
time.

The most bizarre movie I've seen in some time is on the
IFC right now. It's called Crawlspace and stars Klaus Kinski.
It came out in 1986 and I think it never saw the theatres.
He plays the son of a former Nazi concentration camp doctor
(think Mengele) who went on to become mad doctor himself.
He owns an apartment building and only rents to young wo-
men so he can spy on them from the crawlspace. He keeps
a young boy locked in a cage in his aprtment. He even puts
on makeup and watches Nazi propaganda rallies, throwing
in a few hearty Seig Heils for himself. All in all, decent enter-
tainment for someone writing a paper on the Civil War and
grading some papers himself. To think..this is what my Friday
nites has come to.

The wind is blowing so hard outside now that my lights are
flickering. Please don't lose power. I have papers to grade
for my online course (unit ends tomorrow and in true cjensen
fashion I waited until the last minute). My laptop is dead at
the moment. Florida is a odd state weather-wise ; I just got
back from New York and it was warmer there then it will be
here. Hope everyone's new year is off to a good start!

Well what to say? Been a while since I updated, but not
much going on.
I went to the UK to see my family and friends, saw the
Reading Festival which was great. The Pixies were better then
when I saw them here in October, but Queens of the Stone
Age stole the show. I'd never been a fan of theirs until then,
I liked the Dwarves, though. QOTSA is playing here in October and I won't miss them.
There was a lot of tension in London right after the
subway bombings. It really wasn't a good time to be there.
I wonder if the UK will ever be the same after that.
After the UK went home to California and we went
on our annual trip to the Baja. It was fun but we decided next
year we would surf elsewhere..maybe Costa Rica or elsewhere in Central America. Since we roughed it and slept
in a camper for a week we got our hair cut short. The principle being just wake up and throw water in your hair. Plus
the sand fleas on the beach are pretty bad, so less hair means less worry. My grandmother insisted we get our hair
cut short before we came back into the house, she treated us
like we were homeless or something. Since my grandfather
died she has become ..well, tyrannical about the house being
clean. My brother in law calls her the hygiene Nazi. She gets
her house cleaned 3 times a week and also cleans it herself.
I guess she just has to keep herself busy. I came back with
my hair cut the shortest it has ever been - people at work
asked if I'd joined the military. Me join the military? No way..
I have the utmost respect for those in the military, but I'm too
undisciplined. I can barely wake up at 8am..let alone 5am when they do.
I've decided it's time to grow up and get rid of some stuff. I've never been comfortable with riding my motorcycle since my accident. In Florida they just ride differently, and a no helmet law doesn't help. For example,
one thing I see riders do down here is ride the bumper of a
car -get really close. Most people in a car panic and slam on
the brakes because they don't know how to deal with that.
The result is you hit the car. I was taught to stay back and
let the cars speed up, change lanes, etc..they're bigger then
you and more protected. So I'm selling one and possibly both of my motorcycles. In the rare chance anyone here is interested, email me and I can send you pictures, etc.. I've
had some buyers but they backed out. Both of my bikes are
Suzuki crotchrockets if anyone is interested.
I gained 15 pounds in 3 weeks whilst on vacation.
Too much ale and unhealthy British food, I suppose. Been going to the gym every nite since I got back and on my regular diet again. It's amazing how falling out of a routine for
a short time can change things. Since I got back, just been
catching up on work and school. I went to a party at lilacdreams recently which was pretty..well,
interesting. She's a 'friend' of mine here so mum's the word
on that..but I hope to be invited back.
Since nothing going on in Tampa (as usual), think
I'll head down to Miami for Sunday and Monday. I have off
work Monday for comp time since I worked last weekend.
Might be the last motorcycle ride down Alligator Alley for me..
I love going 90 mph down that stretch of road. I would take the car the company gave me but this week got a warning
on the mileage. They said it was too high- I never knew there
were any restrictions on it until now. Gotta love corporate
America. Always moving the goalposts without warning.
Late,
I just found out I'll get my day in court against the SOB
who hit me on my motorcycle. Yes, the drunk who ran the red
light and nearly killed me, then took off. Much thanks to the
people who followed him and held him until the police arrived.
No thanks though to the judge who let him out on bail despite
this being his 3rd DWI..I think I've said it here before but
the reason why the trial is happening 1 1/2 years after the
accident is because he jumped bail and fled to Georgia. Then,
he got pulled over in Georgia and voila...sent back to Fla.
This guy is no criminal mastermind..he had crystal meth in
his car in Georgia. So when Florida is done with him he has to
go back there to stand trial. He has a prior record and my
attornye has said he will do a few years..I'm not vindictive,
but I look forward to seeing him in court.

OUT DEMON TONSILS!!
The reason why I haven't updated in a while is because on
May 26th I had my tonsils removed. Most people here know
I'd been battling strep and tonsillitis for the past year. I nev-
er had any problems prior with my tonsils, not even when I
was a little tyke.
It was quite painful, but I lost 10 pounds since couldn't eat
anything but ice cream and jello for about a week. The Vico-
din syrup they gave me for the pain helped me sleep but al-
so made nauseous. It helps to take it on a full stomach which
I couldn't. It gave me time to catch up on some movies and
CD's I'd bought but didn't have time to watch. I'm all better
now : )
I'm happy the Spurs won the NBA title..I love that team. The
way they play, and the fact that they are a truly international
squad. I had tickets to game 7 in San Antonio but I missed 2
weeks already of work so didn't want to miss any more.
My birthday is tomorrow..hard to believe I'm 25. I'm leaving
for California in about 6 hours to celebrate with my family.
My brother and his girlfriend are throwing a party for me Sat.
nite at their new house in Pacific Palisades which promises to
be entertaining. I'm also to get some surfing in , ride my new
mountain bike, I've had it for 2 years and used it once, then
me and my buds going down to Baja for a few days. It's an
annual pilgramage, but we all swore after my tonsillectomy
we would go. Fish tacos, nice waves and senioritas! Who
could ask for more?
In August going to Reading Festival in UK.. hopefully no sub-
way bombings during that time. My mum and stepfather live
right around from one of the underground stations that was
bombed, my mum called and told me to put on the television.
Fortunately noone in my family was hurt, but a friend of the
family apparently broke a rib and got a concussion from the
blast. He's bedrested for two weeks, not much they can do for
a broken rib. I had one after my motorcycle accident.
Late, hope all is well! For my birthday I bought my third
digital camera- my other two got nicked. If this one survives
the Baja I'll have some pics.

we'll take Berlin"

Bah!! Sorry been absent of late.. got a bad case of tonsillitis
which will require their removal later this month. Don't know
why I never had them removed as a child, my brother did.
My parents were of that generation where they just auto-
matically cut em' out. The doctor has to wait for the swelling
to go down or I could get rheumatic fever, which I never knew. What is up with Florida? Since I've been here major
medical issues..my appendix bursting , my motorcycle acci-
dent (granted not my fault, thanks asshole drunk driver who
ran a red light) , and now my tonsils. I think I went to the
hospital a total of 3 times in my life before moving here.
This will require a lil' surfing trip back to the West Coast
and maybe a visit to Baja..part of my recuperation, ya
know? Late,

I'm off to Arizona to watch the UCLA Bruins face Texas
Tech in the NCAA tourney. Not only am I a big UCLA fan,
as many know, but the coach of Texas Tech is a living legend
who I have never seen live before. His name is Bobby Knight,
aka The General. He is hard-nosed and abrasive , but he
wins and has one of the highest graduation rates in the
history of college basketball. He's doesn't delude his players
into thinking they'll all be NBA stars, he prepares them for
the real world. More coaches need to do this, in my opinion.
Gonzaga is also playing..go Zags. Although they're in
the same conference as my hometown university, Pepperdine, and have beat them the last few years, I like
they're style of play and also like the fact that a team from
a smaller conference can compete with the big boys.
Enough of my ranting, look for me on TV, I think
we have 4th row seats, I know with no profile pic this may be
tough. Yeah I'll get around to it one day. It's only been a
year, dammit!!! I've blond hair, blue eyes, 6'1 , I'll be wearing
the UCLA blue and gold basketball jersey, plus I'll be really
drunk. You can't miss me!!
