I've got a new cheesy far fetched crush lately who's become my inspiration and motivation in many things. She's Nagisa Shirai from the french ballet group Ballet Preljocaj.
I loved that picture and remembered it for years when I first read about the play. It was with incredible joy that I accidentally stumbled on a video of the performance many years later.

The performance is from a remake of the famous Russian play Sacre Du Printemps. It depicts a pagan ritual where a young girl is chosen to dance herself to death.
I'm not particularly thrilled by the choreography, but I am so compeled that she is willing to share herself so completely. Not only is this normally a taboo, but it's even more exciting as part of a classical high art like ballet where it's even less expected (although not unheard of). Angelin Preljocaj is the person to thank for that, but the fact that Nagisa believes in his direction and is unashamed to get stripped naked and dance for the sake of art is ultra rad.
Recently I learned that she is the lead in an adaption of Snow White, which is really what got her on my mind lately. Though much of preljocaj's work I've seen isn't too intriguing, a few videos on his site has started to get me interested and curious about classical dance in general which is not something I expected.
I don't know anything about her beyond that I dig her confidence and openness. I'm also intrigued that she is eager to create or contribute to art and does this professionally (mega cool if you do something in life that furthers human culture). Suicide girls get my attention for many of the same reasons, but I also love how incredibly toned, but natural looking shape she is in. That's something I'm sure comes from a lifetime of dancing rather than lifting weights to work only some muscles and is really the main cause for my lust.
Thinking about her has made me not only more driven to be more creative and build things (video-game levels, role playing rulebooks, digital paintings, even some sandcastles) in the hope of being appreciated by people in similar ways that I appreciate her, but I'm also extremely motivated. Ro continue getting in better shape physically. When I excercise I remember how I want to get in her level of fitness, ans secretly even how I'd want to be able to impress her someday if we ever met. It makes me really want to meet a dancer someday now that I'm on this kick. Some girl that is athletic, but still feminine unlike many sports players.
