I've retracted my blog, along with the shit storm of politics brewing in the CE board.....
I'm done.
I'm done.
the amazing gal who did my most recent tattoo just posted this. in our last tattoo session she told me how she sold a vehicle she absolutely adored in order to get her girlfriend a beautiful custom made 17th century-style wedding ring, she researched the art and went through a long process of getting it made to be precisely the way she envisioned it. she wanted something as unique as her girlfriend. i could tell just by the way she told this story how much she loves her fiancee. now, they are being told they are somehow not entitled to the same kind of union any straight couple is allowed. somehow people seem to think that their love for one another is somehow deviant. i want everyone to listen to the story i just told you, and imagine the look in her eye as she told me her story. i am sickened by the fact that prop 8 passed and i want to share her reaction, because my heart goes out to her and every other gay couple who is seeking NOTHING MORE than to be treated EQUALLY and to have the right to make a lifelong commitment to their partner. For those of you who are registered to vote I STRONGLY encourage you to get out and petition against prop 8 having passed. We just made a HUGE STEP as a nation and a culture in electing the first president of African-American decent. But going along with prop 8 defeats the message that we are a nation of people that celebrates our differences and allows everyone the freedoms that were granted in our constitution.
And to everyone else, I encourage you to repost for Tiffany, her fiance and all couples like them
Thanks Guys!

reports show that due to the overwhelming amount of African American voters that turned out to vote for Obama, they also were the ones that voted Yes on prop 8, 7 out of 10 African American voters voted Yes. while white voters were 50/50.
So, equality for SOME people and not others? that is absolutely fucking ridiculous!!!, in addition to the voters that actually believed that they would be risking exposing their precious children to homosexuality in school, aside from it being a total lie, I would love to know if ANYONE, can prove that a single homosexual is gay due to their exposure to it. i have plenty of friends that have Gay parents and are still straight and so far the majority of my gay friends as well as myself have straight parents, went to church and had NO exposure to it ever!! but yet by God's divine design, I am still gay.
If you really wanted to protect marriage, you should be trying to stop divorce. since it was written in the bible it was punishable by death, and that Jesus himself was upset with Moses for granting a divorce. Also to have such hate for homosexuals, the biblical " abomination" in Leviticus 18:12, but it also states that eating shellfish is an " abomination as per Leviticus 11:10, so you rate your abominations to the degree as to what suits you? perhaps when you are done with your church services and head out to Red Lobster for some shrimp, I will prop up my protesting signs on how you are an abomination of god, and your rights should be stripped... making such a big stink, a dick in your mouth or a shrimp, apparently there is no difference in god's eyes, but yet there in in yours, as if you were god like enough to make that judgment.
Not to mention that the majority of African American must have forgotten that in the past, Christian churches preached the teaching of how African American were animals, hence therefore they could not marry a white... We all know that to be bullshit, but homosexual humans are still treated as animals.. fucking idiots!!

so I have to get this off my chest because it's annoying the piss out of me....
I am THRILLED that Obama won, I also think McCain was very gracious in his concession speech. I'm absolutely pissed off at all the idiots out there who are hurling insults at each other on both sides.
And I have to admit I made a few little snide comments myself on a thread or two....
Unfortunately it's not always easy to follow the example you want to set.
Here's my problem and it's mostly with the "liberal-minded" crew.
We (and I include myself in the liberal-minded) pride ourselves on being open-mined. BUT why is it so often we are only open to minds that lean in the same direction as our own? and when confronted by people with different opinions we are just as quick to throw the "you ignorant insensitive fuck" towel in their faces? I get just as riled up as the next person by comments like "I'm going to clean my gun, stock up on ammo and move into the woods for the next four years" but I also remember how I felt in the last election. I was ready to move to Mexico, I considered Canada but Mexico is warmer
. So I can't in all honesty, say I can't relate to how those people are feeling right now. Our economy is seriously fucked, our international relations, fucked, and our faith in our government is severely damaged on all sides. So I have vowed to bite my tongue and not lash out at anyone making rash comments because I Get It. I may not agree, but I get it. And I am going to try to stay open-minded and let these people express themselves and feel what they feel. Even if they don't offer the same common courtesy to me. I catch myself getting caught up in these petty arguments and am honestly disgusted by myself because I am playing into their games. I just wish more people on the "liberal side" could do the same.
The beauty of this whole election is this:
For the first time since I can ever remember, people in our country actually give a shit about politics. We can thank the current administration for that on one end (they were so terrible that they woke people up). I was in Greece a year ago and had a wonderful old man at a jewelry store ask me what I thought and I said "I'm not sure but it will be a very interesting election, and I am so excited that so many people are finally getting involved". His response? "Yes. Never in my life have I heard so many Americans discussing politics and getting so emotionally involved". All from a little 70-year old Greek Jeweller.
Anyway, that's my rant for today....
I'm glad it's over
I'm happy with the results
and am going to try to be more open and respectful of those who don't feel the same way....
I hope more of my fellow "Liberals" do the same.
Off the soap box for Amy.....

Yay it's election day!!!!!!!
Bonus points for anyone who rear ends any vehicle that says "yes on 8" on the way to the voting booth. i had to restrain myself from plowing a few of them down yesterday!!!
mailed in my ballot (i really wish i had been in California long enough to be registered here, due to some of the ballot issues, but oh well....). had a woooonderful weekend, full of halloween fun and a wonderful sushi date last night
i'm exhausted today, though, and extremely saddened to hear about Elsie having recently passed away
I've only been on the sight for a few months, but found a fellow Frida lover, talented artist and someone who seemed to be a truly beautiful human being in her. So even though I may be a little late catching on (I seem to get stuck in Amy-land and miss a lot if it's not right there in front of me), this is my "Goodbye and you will be remembered fondly" to her:

Okay I have a new blog up on my "official" blog site (Adventures in Amy-land)! It's not an "adventure" per se, but more of an amusing observation and description of a certain TV show in a group conversation I took part in.
Adventures in Amy-land
Enjoy!
