i've been looking around and i wonder how many people really appreciate the ones they're with.

of the billions of people on the planet, what are the chances that you're going to meet THE ONE? But how many times have you seen it happen? probably/maybe/hopefully a lot. and if this seems to contradict the 'laws' of probability, what else can be challenged?

maybe one day we can fly simply by stepping off the ground.

i feel like i should be growing fucking gills or something.

there are so many decisions n paths, i think that part of the problem with mopdern society is that's too many things to choose.

freedom and the chance to explore are fucking beautiful things, but for a lot of people i think it means they're left sat at the fork in the road confused. what do i do? where should i go? our options and freedom have left us jaded and complacent, for most it's a jack of all trades, not a master of one or any. do we spend so much time trying and discarding that we don't settle? is that a good thing? by the time we've found what we want to do/where we're happy, it's too late and the best has passed us by.

history's marked by people who excel in one thing or another, something that's pretty much lost today as we're so eager to jump on the global experience and stick our fingers into so many metaphorical pies. whatever

zippedy doo da, zippedy day

hhhhmmmm......just love those old skool cypress hil vibes. shame i'm only pissed and not stoned....although after a point i don't feel the difference.

there's a mounting unease in the world (REALLY?) that just scares the hell out of me. i 'spose that nov. 2nd will be a benchmark moment in the future of the world in seeing whether the US public decide to vote for their fears (NEWSFLASH - there's an election and yet ANOTHER terrorsist threat, vote for your goverment what keeps you safe) or at least a modicum of hope. is there going to another four years of 'pre-emptive' wars? (funny, even given the idea of 'pre-emptive', when was iraq supposed to attack america? oh, and international law states that a country must be attacked before it can declare war legally).

appeasement used to be a dirty word, but the 21st century version could be a whole lot different. it could simply mean get haliburton, mcdonalds, coke and disney, etc, the fuck out of parts of the world that simply don't want it, but get it rammed down their throats by a WTO that's so fucking biased against anyone outside the G8 that it's fucking criminal (except that the G8 run the international courts, so that's not a fear). quarter pounders, reebok & mickey mouse do not equal freedom and solidarity.

i don't enjoy feeling threatened by people our goverment supposedly trusts. already UK troops in the black watch have been killed near baghdad plugging the gaps that US forces can't cover as they're off supporting their fucking president's attempts at re-election. if the US military is going to provoke a war they should have the good taste to man it themselves and not rely on other nations (the spanish pulled out? good for them! japan has non-combat troops? why not!). afghanistan is policed by former warlords who have less respect for human life than the taliban with a slack US leash and iraq is largely a no-go zone, despite 'mission accomplished'.

and on this site? people celebrating the impending death of arafat? thank god that sharon's in the area to bring peace and equality. what a fucking joke. that a former war criminal (if any international court had the courage to sentence the facsitic horror) is being seen as the one to bring a 'new era/error' to the area. all those refuges in the interment camps must have been tough work for the tank units and that attack helicopters that flattened them in their shanty homes. sling-shots vs. heavy machine guns is always a tense face-off.

whatever, what the fuck.

's funny how you miss the little things when you're stuck looking at the big picture. maybe if people tried being happy with the here n now they'd be a lot happier.

dammit, now i sound like the end of a jerry springer episode
