I had a great day today. I also realized that I have a really good life and that I have been very lucky.

I'm flying home tomorrow but unlike most of the time I'm not real excited about it. My grandpa passed away and his funeral will be Tuesday. He lived a very good life. He was 88 years old and was married to my grandma 67 years. He lived to see 52 grand children. I think that's pretty special.

We had a rocky relationship to say the least. As a teenager I was a complete asshole to his favorite daughter. I did everything I could to make my mom hate me and to send me to live with my dad. It didn't work but it did make my grandpa despise me for a very long time. In recent years he told me how proud he was of me and how successful I've been. I think he was most impressed by the fact I speak Spanish. He always told everyone about his grandson that spoke another language.

It's gonna be sad but I know my mom needs me there.

I don't think I like this getting older bullshit. I wake up every morning with something else hurting. My back, shoulders, knees and every other joint in my body. Then there are the ghost pains that just hit you all of the sudden and you're really not even sure what's hurting. Age gracefully my ass!

I'm flying home tomorrow for our 2nd annual MOFO ride. Don't ask me why we started calling it the MOFO. Not sure where we're going yet. Saturday morning everybody that's going will put a destination in a hat then we'll pick one and be off. Should be fun!

Well I'm back in Mexico and getting ready to head to work. I had a whirl wind trip home but accomplished everything I wanted and needed to.

Had breakfast with my favorite little person Friday morning and just hung out as she likes to call it. After that I climbed on the back of Black Death (thats my name of my motorcycle) and cruised around for a couple hours. Grabbed a late lunch with a couple girlfriends of mine at Olive Garden.
I left there and made the ride to my grandma and grandpa's house. He's really not doing well and as I was leaving their house I realized that was probably the last time I'll see him alive. Seeing him was the main reason I went home. He's 88 and he and my grandma have been married 67 years. that's a long time to be married.

I had dinner with my room mate at Outback and then went for desert with another friend of mine at TGI Friday.

Saturday morning got up, switched motorcycles and rode to the Richmond International Speedway and hung out most of the day and part of the night. I left there went home showered then went to the Canal Club and met Rexx. It was only for a minute but she seemed really cool. She's tiny. I got home around 1:00 am and grabbed a few hours sleep. I was back at the airport Sunday morning at 6:30 am and ready to head back to Mexico.

Favorite little person

I'm still here in Mexico! I'm actually kinda missing home. Being laidoff for 5 months gave me time to hang with my friends and get used to being home instead of being on the road. I miss riding my bike and working on my project bike. I'm really missing my favorite little person. I miss picking her up at preschool and going to the mall to play on the playground. I really miss her.

Fuck it, I'm going to buy a ticket to go home next weekend!

I don't know why I'm thinking about her. I have been for the last couple of weeks. I'm in this beautiful place with thousands of available tourist and locals but yet I can't get her off my mind. So much so that I drunk messaged her last weekend. I don't remember sending it but I certainly received a message back. I sent " I miss you". She sent back about how her heart sank last time we bumped into each other and I walked out without saying a word. I wasn't being an asshole I just didn't have anything else to say.

I did hear a song that best describes where I'm at mentally a couple of weeks ago so maybe that's it. The song goes something like this.... someday I'll get over you, I'll live to see it all through but I'll always miss dreaming my dreams with you. Yeah, it's a country song, a good tear jerker.

I'm headed to my place on the beach to get drunk, fuck it.

I'm getting settle here in Mexico. I got my apt, my jeep and hopefully my phone today. I got lucky, my place is just a block off the beach.

I'm right in the middle of my day before travel ritual. Took my favorite little person to school this morning. Had a good southern breakfast (country ham biscuit ). Now I'm washing clothes and starting to pack. This afternoon I have a few errands to run. I'll have dinner with my room mate this evening before turning in early. My flight is at 6:00 am so I have to get up at the ass crack of dawn but I'll be on the beach by noon tomorrow.

I'm hoping I'll have internet at my place, guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I have pretty much had one of the best weeks of my life this week. It's been alot of riding and relaxing. Spent 8 hours in the Red Garter in Key West the other night, awesome! I've had alot on my mind the last few weeks and I've managed to let it all go these last few days.

I will probably be headed to Mexico in a few weeks, at least I hope I will be. I really need to go back to work.

I'm drunk and we're headed to a concert. I'll post some pics in a couple of days.

The bike is packed and we are headed out of here in a few minutes. This will be my 5th trip to Bikeweek, I'm really excited. I'm hoping all goes well and that the weather holds up. I'll try to update in the middle of the week.
