Well, well, well.
What's new?
I'm in grad school. Work is good. Getting in awesome shape...that's about it. I don't have much to say because I don't suppose too many of my SG friends are still around no mo'.

Lifted from Meridon's journal:
If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don't speak often) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me.
It can be anything you want - good or bad - BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.
When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON'T ACTUALLY remember about you.

It's so nice having a real weekend and real money. I've got plans out the ass, and I'm finally seeing my friends. It's been hard, having a 1-day weekend, because all of my closest friends live out of state (mostly in CT, NY and DC) which has made it damn near impossible to see them enough. Now my weekends are packed! Soon the New Haven crew shall arrive, and we shall be mischevious until it's time to go see us some Radiohead tomorrow.
Yesterday, a penny showed up in my bathtub. I left it there.
Today, there were two.
I'm very interested to see how many there are tomorrow. If there are 3, then I'll clean them up. I don't need a cent a day.
If there are 4, I'm gonna be rich!

Caution: Brain-spill follows
It seems to me that lately people seem to be doing thinking in the wrong order (though, it's certainly possible that this is not new and I've only recently grown mature enough to notice it), especially within internet communities. People seem to hear an idea that fosters mutiple viewpoints, decide pretty quickly how they feel about it, and then do their thinking as to how to justify this stance given what they know.
These snap decisions tend to be based on a lot of things, such as the opinions of somebody respected, the opinions of someone disliked, a general desire to agree with the community or disagree with it, the fact that a certain stance is "liberal" or "conservative" or "popular" or "counter-culture", or any number of pre-existing prejudices (in most cases probably a combination of all of these things). It's probably beneficial in some ways that this occurs, because it helps us get along with each other, but it also feels like a shame, like some really interesting ideas and potential solutions to problems may be overlooked because of our snap decisions.
Every now and then I'll meet somebody who does a lot of their thinking before they form their opinions, and I find it to be the most attractive (not necesarily sexually) single trait. It makes me want to rethink my various conclusions about life, but it's REALLY hard to change my mind about things I've already decided.
Sorry for the extended entry, I feel a little presumptious posting something this long.
