By the River
The face pale, confused
Pearl blue peering between
wet strands of hair,
clack, clack, clack
the screen door tapping
rhythm winds from the rain
behind her
remind me of a bird
I once tried to save,
bouncing around
in my grandfather's shoebox
in the middle of the night
I couldn't sleep
so I let her go...
Yet she keeps coming through
The back door walking
home in the rain
now making a puddle
on my kitchen floor.
The face pale, confused
Pearl blue peering between
wet strands of hair,
clack, clack, clack
the screen door tapping
rhythm winds from the rain
behind her
remind me of a bird
I once tried to save,
bouncing around
in my grandfather's shoebox
in the middle of the night
I couldn't sleep
so I let her go...
Yet she keeps coming through
The back door walking
home in the rain
now making a puddle
on my kitchen floor.

I do, but they didn't show up in the light. I'll try to do a reading, though!
