NEVERWHERE - Neil Gaiman
the book! I literally called out of work one day when I realized at 547am that I was 67pages from the end. I proceeded to hug the book and reflect fondly on how much I loved all of the characters. The ending was thrilling and so wonderfully like the other parts in this novel, I watched so clearly in my mind Richard Mayhews journey through the door. The characters in this novel, which many refer to as "the gothic alice in wonderland," are so wildly developed - I want to live in london below!! This is the most addicting novel, since the harry potter series, I literally thought about the characters on my drive to work. I cannot WAIT to read another Gaiman. I have read many reviews in the blogosphere and apparently this author has no intentions of a sequel or adaptation to a major motion picture, but there is a BBC made for TV mini series which is hilariously adorable in the 1995 special effects category. I loved it - even if the graphics were aweful, Richard on the show had an adorable voice. I imagined DOOR looking a bit younger but that is the magic of reading over watching (:
