So it has been over a month (EEK) since I updated y'all on life shenanigans. Let's see...
So after my apartment lease fiasco, I temporarily moved in with my grandparents to help them out a bit and save some money. I've been wanting to move out of state for a really long time now, but I never wanted to leave my (awesome) job. Well work has finally gotten to the point where I'm not totally against leaving, things are changing and I'm not as happy there as I used to be. So I said fuck it and started putting all my effort into preparing myself financially to move out of state. Then the next choice... Where? Since I've grown up where almost all my family lives in the same city, I've got such a strong attachment to having family all the time. Then I realized, DUH CHICAGO. Half of my family still lives up there, and the Blackhawks are there, so naturally... It just makes sense. I started searching for jobs (which really sucks because Chicago's economy is not so wonderful right now) and started talking to two companies specifically so I decided to take a road trip up there and go to some interviews and check out apartments. I dragged my friend Sammie along and we made a weekend of it. It was the same weekend as Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals (Blackhawks vs. Bruins) and I was trying so hard to get tickets to the game but that didn't happen. I ended up settling with just watching the game at a bar downtown or something, which ended up being a fiasco consisting of me driving around for an hour looking for a place to park because nobody ever fucking taught me how to parallel park. Anyways... Point is, Chicago was awesome and beautiful and so much fun. Just confirmed the idea that I wanted to move up there. I'm so in love with everything about that city.
While we were there, I also did a photoshoot for my friends who model for Ladies of Metal! It was super fun and it made me realize how much I miss taking photos (also made me realize how BAD I want to have Alissa Brunelli shoot my SG Hopeful Set).
Anyways. Photo dump? Sorry there are so many! If y'all have any desire to see the high quality photos I shot of my girlie friends, they're on my website! www.trinitiortizphoto.com
Chicago Shenanigans (starting from the road trip up there):
Pardon the fucking HORRIBLE photo but driving and taking pictures of shit that is behind you is really hard (and probably a little dangerous)
My sister
And my nephew
We went to eat at this super fucking awesome place called Kuma's Corner and all of the burgers are named after metal bands. I had the Mastodon. Also, this beer is the best shit I've ever had in my entire life.
AND I got to go to the Blackhawks store (which was bad because I spent way too much fucking money)
We left Chicago on Sunday at like 9:00 PM and got in Houston JUST in time to go to the bar for the Stanley Cup Final game, where the Blackhawks had the most incredible 1:00 of game play I've ever seen. The place we watch games in Houston is a super cool little Canadian themed bar where hockey is ALWAYS on, and it's pretty much the only place in Houston you will find a collection of hockey fans (for any team). But that night there were so many Blackhawks fans and the entire place erupted when we won the cup. I definitely wish I would have stayed one more fucking day so I could have been in Chicago for that celebration.
More miscellaneous photos!
A few random selfies?
Anyways! So that's all that has been going on in my life. I'm still searching every fucking day for opportunities in Chicago. The one interview I went to was PERFECT but they couldn't offer me enough hours initially, and the other interview I went to was for a place that is currently VERY short staffed and I'm having problems trying to figure out whether I got the job or not because the two bosses are too busy to ever sit down and talk it over. Oh well. Keep your fingers crossed for me. And if anybody knows of anything in Chicago, let me know!

Kuma's is the shit. Best burgers in the city. Good choice.
