So I'm almost 5 hours into Red Dead Redemption and, at this point, I'm loving it.
It's everything I wanted GTA to be. I wanted there to be a character that was, well, GOOD... or at least able to be good. Unlike any of the past GTA characters, Marsten has good in his heart and his killing makes sense in the wild west idea.
The Dead Eye feature, ala Max Payne, is great and I can now use this targeting thing to cut people down from hangings... I think. I haven't tried it yet, but I need it cuz I suck at cutting the noose.
And hopefully I can save the farmer's daughter from getting shot. Cuz that sucked.
To give you an idea as to how much fun random stuff is, I've gotten all of 2 achivements. Why? Because I've just been randomly running around doing different things. It's just so. damn. fun.
I haven't even opened Alan Wake yet, and all I can think of is playing this game. more. I want to play it. Now.
But not really kid appropriate, unfortunately, with all the murdering and such.
If you're thinking about getting this game, I honestly think it's looking into. There's something fantastic about it, the voice acting is amazing and although the targeting system can get incredibly frustrating, and sometimes it's as easy to kill a good guy as it is a bad guy (I've accidentally shot a lawman when trying to shoot the guy they're chasing after... oops.) it's still not a deal breaker and makes me realize just how amazing the game is from the ground up.
I get so excited when story elements come up, when Marsten talks to the people of New Austin and Texas and such, it's a joy. There's a scene involving Bonnie and her father that takes the cake in how amazing and touching it is.
That was something the other GTA games were lacking for me. Now I can care about the characters and the people. I can be a hero, not a stupid maniac. I can choose to NOT kill people.
I. Love. This. Game.

so...
I just took about $70 in games today and traded them for Split/Second, Red Dead Redemption and Alan Wake.
I'm currently going to take about another $80 in games to trade for a brand new white Wii that I'll resell for about $180 or so..
This game trading insanity is getting to me. It's not effing healthy... but I'm so addicted. It's driving me batty =/
The biggest issue is that if I go out to do this, it'll be in the rain and with my insane chillins in tow... But it's a wii for 5 effing games.
BAH.
CHOICES.
And I'm going to trade another 2 games on Sunday for Super Mario Galaxy 2...
That means that with just a smattering of money spent, I will have:
Red Dead Redemption
Alan Wake
Split/Second
3 copies of Lost Planet 2 for the 360 from last week
A brand new Wii
And a partridge in a pear tree.

11 more days till I head back home to visit my family. Fly out Saturday the 29th but head down to Seattle on the 28th.
Wish I knew the best way of getting there. Some friends may be able to give me a ride, but that may not pan out.
Otherwise, the bus will be the only possible option... and then a Hotel from there.
Fuck I wish I drove.
I'm so effing difficult!
And I'm going to miss my girls
All of 'em! Dogs included.
Speaking of that, Ellie is getting rather unsettled me being on the computer and not in bed like I should be, I'm a terrible puppy parent

Another busy day. Early morning at about 8, didn't get to sleep until just about 2...
BUT...
about 3/4 of an accident today, 4 successful trips out to her potty spot.
Let me say this... Ellie rocks. She's adorable and although she's a little strong willed and won't sit yet, she's fanfreakingtastic. Adore her!!
Snuggly as all get out and VERY talkative when she gets petted while asleep. I'm looking forward to her and Olive getting to know each other better. Olive is still a little rough playing with her, but I'm sure that will improve.
Dogs = Awesome

Day 2 with Ellie!
she's adorable. Sat in my lap as I played some Gears last night. Only half an accident in the house today, 2 trips out where she did a pee and a decent, firm poop!!
That's right! Yay!
She kicks ass. Love this dog. and I think she needs to go out again so... toodles!

Well, come Wednesday Ellie will come into the house.
The girls came up with the name, referenced to the Chippette Eleanor.
So we'll have Olive and Eleanor, both Aussie Labradoodles and I couldn't be more excited
I'm off for almost a full week with Ellie to get acclimated!
Pictures to come!

So... I'm stupid.
But I think I'm getting another dog o.O
The options are: Australian Labradoodle like the one we currently have. Except a bit smaller, maybe 25 - 30 pounds. Not much smaller, but smaller still.
They're multi generation so the breed is pretty well established. We could have them for maybe next week.
They were an "oops" litter and the owner, who is incredibly nice, fantastic and who has the dogs in a home dog run with tons of love, clean dogs and a very non-puppy mill feeling location. Because it was an oops litter, they are only $400 versus the usual $2500.
The con? They're a bit older. So we wouldn't have them from the itty baby puppy stage.
The other option is a first gen Cavapoo. They're more expensive ($700) but we'd have them from puppy stage.
The place that they're bred in is more of a kennel, they don't have expansive dog runs, but the dogs spend a lot of time out, as is shown by their muddy exteriors.
They also breed a lot of types of dogs, Havanese, Jack Russels, Spaniels, etc...
But we'd get the cavapoos from puppies, we could watch them as they mature from itty babies...
Oh, what to do...
HELP
I have pictures of the possible Labradoodle pups, will put them up in a little bit...
