So... I'm eating my cereal this morning, and I had already seen the "In The Papers" segment on New York 1, so I tuned in to MTV. Apparently, the latest sensation is these 2 cute little (presumably) Eurasian sisters, bouncing up and down in their simple white dresses, whining their little emo anthem, and holding a (presumably their) heart in their hands.

I think it was that moment that it crystallized for me.

Emo: the perfect soundtrack for the era of "America As Victim".


I mean, seriously.... I write a lot of lyrics about helping people rise above themselves, but I am now deeply compelled to go cleanse myself with some nice death metal.
