Perhaps I'm just older and less in touch, or perhaps I don't get much out of this place because, lets face it, I don't put much in, but I have noticed a number of things.
1. My friends list gets smaller and smaller. This is because most of the people on it are inactive or grey. I don't really find the new (and when i say new I mean three year old) layout conducive towards meeting new people,
2. I don't blog enough, and even if I did there are precious few to read it.
3. The average SGer nowadays has so much less in common with me than they used to (partly because I have changed, partly because the demographic has changed).
4. If you're a hopeful or an SG and your last three or more blogs have been about what set(s) you are planning or shooting then you are a very boring person and need to rethink your life.
5. The people who run this site are not very nice.
6. I keep on getting friends requests from people who've never bothered to comment on my profile or, most likely, even bothered to read it. Most of these are hopefuls of course. Spamtastic.
7. Most sets nowadays are glossy... and boring.
8. Alternative is the new mainstream. When I was younger the alternative scene was the preserve of intelligent free thinking people who had something to say. Nowadays it's just another club to join, often because the cool kids won't let you join theirs. This is why so many SG's are spiteful bitches: now they've found their minor celebrity status they're going to milk it for all they can in order to make up for the years that they were the person being picked on, not the picker. How nice.
This place has turned in to an 'alternative' myspace with tits. The only reason I am here is because there are a precious few people I care about on here, and want to keep in touch with. They too are getting fewer and fewer, and a number are either on my facebook or i actually speak to in the real world. My reasons for staying are getting fewer and fewer.
It's not all bad though. I've made some great friends, and met some wonderful people. One person in particular (she knows who she is) I feel exceptionally lucky to have met and been in a relationship with. Despite the fact that it's no longer the case I'm happy to say we're still friends, which is fantastic- as fantastic as she is.
I've had a lot of fun and learned loads in the photography group. The UK politics group has had its moments as well, although it's far less active.
This isn't my goodbye speech. This is my "I'm not always sure why I'm here" speech. I'm not going anywhere just yet

Yup, my lil house is too small for me, Tessie, the gerbils and two screaming kids! I won't be getting babies; I want teens or maybe a little younger but not so young that Tessie thinks lunch. She hates small children with a fierce passion so they have to be old enough to not piss her off. Also, they have to be old enough to clean their own bits. I ain't prepared to wipe arses or anything like that so yeah, teens sounds ideal for me. Also, it's my forte already having been a landlady/current support worker for teenagers for the past 5 years
I want a nice 3/4 bed house where I can have my own little office, a really nice garden with a patio/decking for BBQ's and enough room for us all to fit in and not be squished. I'm 35 years old for fucks sake, I have earned a bigger house by now surely! Hehe
I'm gutted about my van though. It's only done just over 30,000 miles, it's a 56 Astravan top of the range Sportiv bollocks and it's only now worth about £6k - I was hoping I'd be able to get a new Astra car if I sold the van and I can't even get an Astra car of the same age! Jim reckons I should just keep the van and hire myself out as a transporter for people/things. Kinda like a girl with a van type thing. I dunno but I love my van and it is dead handy when I'm doing rescues and pigeon jobs. I'm gonna have to see what happens before I decide but I think keeping it may be better than selling it. I'll still need a car though for the kiddy-winkles. The van only has space for 2 people but meh...... I'm too tired to think about all the things I need to think about. Plenty of time and all that so I'm off to bed. Nunite chicken.
And yeah, we WILL meet up at some point. I'm in town this Wednesday but I'll be occupied the entire time BUT I'm sure to get a job up there soon or something in which case, I'll let you know

Nah I can agree with pretty much everything you've written, I've heard a few people talk about number 5 but no one seems to elabrate why?
I enjoy this site though.. Admitedly I'm not the most social of people but the groups are good the interviews interesting and well tits are tits can't go too wrong..
I think people get fed up with sg and leave because They read to much into it and give it illusions of grandue, it is as you said pretty much a myspace with tits n not much more than that.. But whats wrong with myspace with tits ^^
I don't have any RL friends on sg yet.. either they want to but can't for one of a few reasons or they don't want to pay for what they think is just a porn site.
It makes it more interesting for me though.. I like reading about whats going on in peoples lives it's almost like a group of stories RL can be stranger than fiction no?

I really cannot believe it love, I was convinced I was gonna get a letter through the post saying they didn't think I was suitable. I'm one step closer but still have a loooooooooong way to go
