Sadness came in this sunday. I lost my favorite uncle, a man that I use to call Uncle "Good" when I was little child.
The worst thing is be here, very far away from my relatives, I saw him for the last time two years ago in my last travel to my homeland.

Goodbye my old friend. We are all stardust. One day we will see each other again. R.I.P. Uncle Jose, my uncle "good".

Much time has passed since I posted something here. Not yet there are so many news that a new year could bring, but we're only in January. Again, I had to stay in Rio de Janeiro and I could not visit my relatives and childhood friends in my home state, Bahia.
Perhaps many of you have seen on the news, news about a tragedy that happened here in the state of Rio de Janeiro. More precisely in the mountainous region of the state. So far, it is estimated that more than 800 people have died from the sum of strong rains and landslides. In a way, it is a tragedy. In fact, what happened in the week, days before I talked to my mom on the phone and she commented to the follies and errors of Brazilian public administration and said: "want to bet that once again this year we will have a tragedy caused by the rains?". I am not an Esper or psychic is just that every year in Brazil rains cause tragedies without doing anything to change the picture.
Well, I will let you with the vision of moon (yes, it is the moon), took yesterday from my window:

When I was 16 years old, in Brazil there was a movie magazine called SET Cinema & Video. This magazine, which was a monthly, had thematic quarterly issues. I loved the special editions of scientific fiction and Terror, two of my favorite genres. It was then that I discovered the special issue on pornographic movies. That magazine (which I keep until today), has changed my life.
First, because it had an interview with Jamie Gillis, where he was presented as a Marquis de Sade reincarnated, which was enough to make him one of my idols in the industry. But mainly because it was the first time I started reading about the possibilities of pon cinema as art and culture.
When finally I got into film school, my love for the genre that has always been strong, led me to decide to write my Thesis on the American pornographic film of the 70's. What's more, today, next to complete the course, I'm in pursuit of doing something which add in the same pot all my cultural and philosophical references, and also my own soul.
Sometimes it seems hard (and it is difficult indeed), even for someone completely bankrupted like me, who does not know where to find the means to pursue their own productions. But fact is, porn or mainstream cinema, I do not see myself giving up on print my worldview. And my love of cinema as a whole, the theory of the Sublime, for the BDSM. Etc.
Screenplays, I have many of them. Movies? Not yet... But who knows about the future?

As I am still busy and I still have problems with my deadlines, I can't do an epic post here in this blog journal. But looking for material I found old pics that I took on my last holliday trip to my homeland, Bahia. Those are two pics from Salvador, Capital City of Bahia.

This is a final decisive weekend for me, my deadline to defend my thesis is closing, the pressures imposed by myself to myself arrived at a point of no return.
The anxiety of wanting to just get rid of my only commitment that still hold me to a course that was disappointing and the rush to go back to work on my projects (and believe me, there are many projects), summed it all has meant that things were not walk as I would have walked.
Last week I had the opportunity to exchange ideas through Skype with the famous porn director, Michael Ninn about visions to a future epic porn bdsm.
I wish I could write more, but I have to go back to my work, I'll leave you with some pictures that have been part of my life in recent days. Fruit of my obsession with diving more and more on topics that attract me.

I hope to be back soon.

As many of you, who read my last blog journal, sunday was general election here in Brazil. But Brazil's leading presidential hopefuls are preparing to return to campaigning ahead of a second round of elections.
It comes after Dilma Rousseff, backed by outgoing President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, failed to secure the 50% of votes needed for an outright victory.
She now enters a 31 October run-off against Social Democratic Party (PSDB) candidate Jose Serra, who won 33%.
What this means is that all of us, have to vote again for president next halloween. Now, only two candidates remains for presidential running. As vote in Brazil is a compulsory, I will have to vote, despite I don't wanna any of the both candidates. I'll vote null.
Both candidates have extremely conservative positions on issues of personal freedom.
Both do not have the courage to take a position on legalizing marijuana, abortion rights, gay marriage. And both receive support from extremist religious leaders. The President Lula's candidate Dilma Roussef receive support from this man:

This man in the poster, is the leader of the Assembly of God Church in Brazil. These posters were all over Rio de Janeiro on election day. And says "for the family and the preservation of the human race". And quotes the bible: "God made them male and female (Gen 1:27)"
The oposition Candidate Jose Serra, receives support from Opus Dei and another Catholic Fundamentalist group TFP (portuguese for Tradition, Family and Property).
As you all see. I don't have any reason to give my vote for any of those candidates.

Today is a day of general elections here in Brazil. In the past, I used more interested in the political process. But after repeated scandals (yes, the president that the world speaks well, has a government marred by corruption scandals and attempts to silence the press), I have no more patience to participate. To make matters worse, the day is rainy and voting in Brazil is not a right, is a must. We have to vote here. Voting is compulsory.
To make matters worse, I'm kinda bummed with the behavior of some people who called themselves my friends and have distanced themselves. Worse, they do so without telling the truth, knowing that I have always been intolerant of lies. I do not lie and accept anything but lies. And I know when they are lying, not because I'm good at identifying a liar, but because the lies you tell are ridiculously stupid, as if they wanted me to realize that they lied to hurt me.
