Today, my mother and I went to K-Mart to purchase some clothing. We walked there via Allegheny Avenue at around ten in the morning. The neighborhood was pretty grimy as usual. Mom mentioned that she increasingly dislikes walking down Allegheny because of all the strung out people she sees there. When she wants to go to the Library, she has Dad drive her to the Northeast Regional Branch on the weekends.
We found what we wanted at K-Mart. Because they didn't have a security guard on duty, the fitting rooms were unlocked. This was appreciated, as having to get the guy to unlock it for you made it feel like Attica. You had to be careful to make certain the door to the fitting room didn't close behind you, though.
When we were walking home, on Frankford Avenue we encountered two people getting into an argument, a man and a woman. The man was yelling she needed to stay out of his fucking business, while she responded that it was her business. We couldn't tell what it was about, though it seemed to have something to do with his mother.
