I'll write a new post soon about the wonderful things I wish I was doing. And finishing college. Until then, here's a painting I'm screwing with.

Maybe the last post was wrong. Maybe I really am dead, and time passes strangely because when your physical body dies, your spirit/conscience just dreams. It's hard to tell more and more often. But there are worse things.

And to think that I don't actually drink or do any drugs.

i am not dead.

i am in the middle of a nightmarish quarter, and the last two weeks have consisted of 3 papers, 1 group presentation, and two midterms. preparing for this has required reading howards end, women in love, the dubliners, 2 books on documentary film making, a significant portion of paradise lost, several of john milton's political essays and treatises. and the acquisition of a king james bible.

i work on campus 20 hours a week, carry 21 units (factor in three hours of class work for each unit) and work at tower again for about 15 hours a week. i now apparently have some form of the plague, which has been a fantastic addition to an exciting life. somehow amidst all of this i've been able to hang out with lyris a bit, and went to a show with my friend lauren (she had more fun looking at the girls than even i did). but i've not had much of a social life lately. in news that might be slightly more exciting, i've started a new website with some friends for our video game and pop culture ramblings, and i am trying as hard as i can to make it look as it good as it can. hopefully that will happen. i've worked on it quite a bit, and it's already online, hosted, etc.

trying something different.

you may find exactly what you want. but no one said you can have it, or if you get it, that you can keep it.

life likes reminding me of this, in the most knife twisting ways possible, and i'm sure i've earned every moment of it. that doesn't make it hurt less.

i will not spend my entire trip to san diego arguing with ill-educated nintendo fanboys. i refuse. and i must tell myself this every so often. there are plenty of emotionally draining and exhausting things around here without dealing with it.

a person or two has expressed interest in a print of some of the work i posted a couple of journals back. i would love to oblige them, not so much for monetary reasons, but because i'd like to do this for them and i have a hard time parting with paintings (especially paintings i don't have slides for). however, i have no access to a camera capable of capturing images even remotely detailed enough for a print that i would be even remotely satisfied with. so now i throw this out there: anyone with some good camera equipment willing to help me out? it can be digital or analog; i can work with either. i just need good material to work from and for archival purposes. anyone?
