On Saturday, some friends and I went down to Horton Plaza. We checked things out, shopped a bit. I bought a massively delicious scoop of praline ice cream at the drug store. Then, all of a sudden -- well, remember 1980s teen semi-hit series Out of this World, where the girl could stop time by touching her fingers together with hilarious ensuing hi-jinx? Sort of like that, I we were mid-way up the steps when suddenly everything just froze.

Apparently when we came to, a mysterious five minutes later, I couldn't for the life of me shut the fuck up about it, let alone speak in a cadence affording of more than two brain cells at max. (And the new hair color really didn't help matters at all, did it?)



Coordinated chaos is über-fun. Even for Valley Girls.

In other news, muchas gracias to everyone who wished me happy birthday yesterday! I had a cute and romantic dinner at Sushi Deli, after which I was so satisfyingly full I could barely walk, but walk we did nonetheless, in order to see Be Kind Rewind which is the best movie I've seen yet this year (yeah, I know it's still early, but pretty much anything Michel Gondry breathes on is bound to wind up in my year-end top five). It was the best birthday I've had in ages, far and away exceeding expectations set in place by last year's "birthday so bad I felt it for weeks." Hell, it didn't even rain.

Hmm. I should be around here more. Y/N?
