parents just told me that August 31st is the day i have to be out of the house. my options are a) get my ged and be enrolled in classes by then (which i cant do anyways because classes are closed.) b) go to job corps in grand junction, take out all my piercings, dye my hair a normal color, and give up two years of my life to go live in a program i would hate or c) they give me a bus ticket to alaska and i never come back and im stuck living with my schizophrenic mom
awesome. fml.

I went to job corp. hated it! never wore the uniform, got in trouble for it all the time. I can now officially say "As a Devry Graduate...I mean Job Corps graduate. I know better then you". They do give you an allowance or did. Dunno if they still do that.

hate to say it but the middle optionmight be best for you at thispoint unless you canwork somethingelse outwiht your parents by their cut off date. its only 2 yrs of your life and you are so young still. you have PLENTYof time toget back to what you TRULY want todo afterwards and whoknows.. you mightmake some awesome contacts inthe process.

Perhaps you could try and find a hostel in the Denver area. Also City O' City is a great restaurant and wouldn't frown on your hair or piercings. I hope you are able to resolve the situation.

Oh no! That sucks! Personally, I wouldn't go to job corps. I hope things work out for the best.

Wow those are some crappy choices. frown Can't you reason with them and tell them you will do the GED thing next time the classes are available?

I can help you study for your GED, I got mine two years ago. Have you checked for jobs or anything around the CS area? We have an extra room right now, but it remains to be seen how long we'll be here, we're trying to transfer out of Ft Carson. Job Corps may not be such a bad thing either, free education can't be all bad.

I take it you have no desire for advanced education (even an associates degree)? 2 is "safest".

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

Perhaps bad advice: But if your determined and want to do things your own way, you can suffer your mom and she lives in a CITY in Alaska. You could get your G.E.D. in Alaska (really you should do this anyways) and work a little job (restaurant or retail) to save some cash (maybe have to die your hair back). Then will have some time to work out plans to come back to the Continential U.S. in whatever city you want (job, room-mates, or even college or associate program), there are resources (web-sites) to help you find room-mates and everything, who knows at that time there might be other SGs or Hopefuls looking for room-mates.
