Went to Pelican tonight. Awesome sauce. Spiked with kick ass.

Just purchased tickets to a Pelican show. I'm a little excited.

I just read 'I Kill Giants' by Joe Kelly. It really tore me up. Fantastic piece.

Went to a Halloween party last night, second of the season. Love at first sight, it really was.

I survived the Decemberists outing, though I likely could have died happily afterwards. The show was excellent. A few notes:

Favorite moment: Shara as the evil queen. @

Set list: Entirety of Hazards of Love from beginning to end. Intermission. Followed up by 40 minutes more of entertainment including high points Leslie Ann Levine. Chimbly Sweep. A cover of Crazy on You, by Heart. @

Opening act(s): Laura Veirs and the Flames. An excellent folk/rock band featuring the cute and perky Laura and her sometimes back up band of equally gifted, though understated in this performance, the Flames. Exceptional and well suited to opening for the Decemberists.

'Inglorious Basterds' was a lot of fun to watch. Great use of constant tension and atmosphere. Probably Tarantino's best work. He should hang it up after this.
