Ink from last night.

Urban InkFest was a total blast, by the way. Spent the better part of Sunday getting an outline done on a wild half sleeve.

When I was younger, I had huge balls. I'd do awesome stuff, like dance around by myself in public places and speak my mind all the time (and often get myself in trouble) and wear the oddest stuff like tiedyed shirts with big-ass toucans or dolphins and carry around a sketchbook full of drawings of my imaginary pets and draw on myself with markers.

And then, somewhere in the teenage years, I was way more concerned with being thought of as cool than I was with actually being cool. But I was super uncool, and I despite all my best efforts to be socially and fashionably accepted, and I stayed super uncool. Eventually I gave up on being cool (which was boring as fuck anyways).

And now that I'm sortakindamaybealmost grown up, I dance around all by myself (and I don't even have to be drunk) and speak my mind all the time (and it gets me in heaps of trouble) and wear stuff like tiedyed shirts (and ink-covered jeans that fall off my big ass) and carry around a sketchbook (full of ideas for paintings in my imaginary art gallery) and draw on other people with tattoo machines.

I'm more like my kid-self now than I was when I was still a kid, and that makes my kid-self very fuckin' happy. Does anyone else in their young adulthood have a similar experience?

I'm back, again, and I'm going to be much better about blogging and participating in the message boards. I promise.

See, I've been working a day job (walking dogs), raising my own puppy (who is fucking adorable), relocating (I've now had 4 happy homes in the past year) and have been rockin' out my tattoo apprenticeship. It's taken all of my focus and drive to spend 5 days a week working outside with animals (through the godawful Chicago winter) and 6 days a week in the tattoo studio, busting my ass and learning nonstop. I'm mere months away from completing a year-long apprenticeship. It's been a hell of a ride and I'd love to share some stories, but that'll have to wait.

In the meantime, I'd like to share my most recent work. Perhaps it looks familiar?

Well, I sure do suck at keeping up with this site. Here's a recap of the last...uh...5 months:

- Got back together with my lover. He was very, very silly to ever leave me. Sorry, boys and girls!

- Apprenticing at Fifth Sun Graphix www.fifthsungraphix.com, levelin up my sweet tatty skills!

- Had to deal with a shitty situation with a slackin' landlady and moved with only about three weeks notice. Still representing Chi-town, rockin' the quiet neighborhood of Hermosa.

- Got a FREAKING ADORABLE puppy. Three month old Australian Shepherd named Abbey.

I'll try my damnedest to get back on the ball with this website. I'm still modeling and will hopefully be shooting a new set sometime very soon. Show me some love and make it happen sooner!

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I am back on the market. My boyfriend left me this afternoon and I have spent the day napping, getting incredibly stoned, eating sushi, and watching some of my favorite movies. No sappy romantic bullshit, I'm watchin' Hellboy II, Star Trek is next.

I'm a bad, bad blogger.

But, since I'm in bed with the sniffles, here's what I'm up to:

I'm now an assistant manager at a dog walking company during the day, working throughout the north side of Chicago. Contact me with all your pet needs. My evenings are spent at Rockstar Ink in Oak Park where I do tattoos and work on paintings, drawings, and all things artsy. I feel very, very good about my grown up jobs and don't mind the long days because none of it feels like "work".

I have a car now, which is pretty damn awesome.

I'm going to Colorado next week with my family for a vacation and am very much looking forward to it. I don't even mind being sick right now because I'll be fine by this weekend and it sure beats the hell out of being sick on vacation and not being able to hike or swim or get trashed in downtown Boulder.

I am full of love and snot.

Holy shit! l was pretty sure my new set was hitting MR on the 19th, but it opened up for voting like two days ago! ACK! Well, enjoy the set. I had atotal blast shooting it and definitely have my fingers crossed for pink!!
