housed in

a reliquary that holds
the venerated remains
of a great and
eternal teacher.

Each mistake,
screw-up,
epic fail
and
face-plant
is
the perfect teacher
for the perfect moment.

I just felt like being a kiab today. Generally, a weakly written piece this is. Lots and lots of words that said very little and went generally nowhere. I'm pretty sure I'd have been interested in it if Will Wheaton wrote on the topic. Oh, wait. He did. I feel better already. Wil gets zeitgeist.

Of course, many could levy the same criticism at the 700+ words used to make my point. Point is, I actually had a clear point. Respectfully, I don't really think the same can be said for Marano.

Cranky writer day

So I'm seriously thinking of packing all my shit in boxes, stuffing it in a storage unit, and going and living at my sangha's monastery about 70mi from here. I can live there cheaper than anyplace else. I'll be with friends and people who care about me. All my needs will be met, food and everything else, for much less than it will cost to live in any other way. And I'll be surrounded by the dharma. I can live there without making a full commitment to the priesthood--sort-of a "try it and see" thing--for as long as I like. I'd be able to save money and pay-off debt.

But yes, I am seriously considering becoming a full-on monastic, working towards the priesthood. My life is morphing into something very new, and very different from what I expected it to be. And if there's one thing I've learned in my 41 years, that's when change comes, don't fight it. Trying to keep the ocean from doing what the ocean does only gets you wet and/or dead. Best to learn to swim

For all those who asked (all three of you )

a) I'll be here 'till March
b) I'm leaving again for a few reasons which include, but are not limited to:
* money
* lack of interest in SG (the premise, not the people)
* a change in the character of my life, and SG not fitting in with it anymore
* over-all fuq-all attitude lately
c) You guys still rock. I didn't return for the nakedness. I came back to check in on friends. Hopefully they'll keep in touch after I leave.

My life has changed so damn much recently. Divorce. Starting over @ 40. Trying to get my ass attached again. Oi. Anyways, SG was fab (except the parts that sucked, and there were a few, although only a few). Anyways, it's time to focus my life elsewhere. If people do want to keep up with me and my doings, especially my fellow Dharma dweebs, feel free to RSS my blog, as I won't really be posting here much anymore.
