STARFEST was awesome last night. I have never seen so many astronomers, enormous telescopes, assorted star gazing equipment or so many computers in one place. It was in the middle of farmland one and a half hours north est of Toronto. In this surprisingly gorgeous valley (I think it might be some part of the Niagara escarpment).
We convinced the security guard to let us in free (we missed all the events and keynote speakers... we really just wanted to camp and stargaze). There was a meteor shower.
WE didn't get there until after dark (we went with a group and waited for them all to be ready) and the funnny part was I had a brand new tent (that I got for Christmas) which I had never seen open before. I was totally lazy and watched the magic multi-layered sky while other people put up my tent. So when the sun came up I was happy to see that I was the proud owner of a blue and grey four person tent that is quite tall (better than my last one) and has a little porch on the front.
I'm off to a meetings and 2 auditions.
