Well, I had a fun weekend!

Went to the beach Sat to meet with friends and eventually got talked into splitting a hotel room to crash at after bar hopping that night. That was the third night this week that I didn't go home!

After finally waking up and going home I had people over to hang out pool side, cookout, and enjoy some hookah.

This guy showed up...

And so did this guy...

First, I don't blog enough... frown

Second, the past couple days have been crazy fun! I've only been home long enough these past couple days to shower, change clothes and get a little something to eat before work. It's gonna be so nice to sleep in my own bed tonight and not be too hungover to go for a run in the morning.

The Nonpoint/Cold show was awesome! Minus the fact that some friends didn't say goodbye before leaving... (just giving you shit! tongue) We even ran into Nonpoint's lead singer outside long after the show ended while we were bar hopping. Super rad and friendly guy!

That's it for now... Big plans this week though, big plans! Muh ha ha!

Just saw Sick Puppies perform last night and it was a great show. Minus the drunken antics from my friend's boyfriend. The guy is such a douche! Damn near ruined to whole night for me. Last night was even worse than at the Sevendust show. Security had to kick him out...

But anyway...

Three bands opened...
Society Red A good local band
Violent Soho Way too grunge for my liking
and Janus These guys were pretty good

My camera is still up in Buffalo after leaving it at my father's place, but I did take some iPhone photos and video. I'd post the video but it... is... LOUD! Next time I'll have to cover the mic with a bit of cloth or something to muffle the really loud stuff.

And on a last note about the show... Emma Anzai is so hot! love

I have a thing for musician chicks... whatever

So I'm finally back from my holiday vacation and have to go to work in a couple hours so I had better get around to writing about it.

WARNING! Bombardment of pictures imminent!

So the first week of the whole trip took place in a cabin in Tennessee for my grandparent's 50th anniversary, which just so happened to be on Christmas. My brother drove the whole 9 hours from FL to TN. Which was fine with me as I got to watch the entire 2nd season of How I Met Your Mother uninterrupted.

We even made a quick stop in NC for some last minute gifts

Everyone that had come to celebrate pitched in to rent this huge cabin with about 8 rooms, several couches, a damned theater, flat screen TVs everywhere, game room and not 1... but TWO jacuzzis, which I personally felt never got hot enough.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

The cabin was...

And the aforementioned amenities...

Our first few days my father, brother, brother-in-law, sister and I went to these long, winding, rocky, muddy, middle of no where trails 80 miles from the cabin. Even my 1 year old nephew was brought along... My sister strapped a car set on the Yamaha Rhino they brought up. Which I was in the back of a lot taking pictures while trying to hold on!

I did get to ride of course...

I know... the sound sucks.

And on Christmas Eve... We drank! A lot! Can you imagine the hang over the next morning with a bunch of scream kids opening presents?!

My uncle, Mike, in full Christmas garb...

And the rest of the week was random silliness. To include...

Which I'm not gonna bother to spoiler.

After TN my brother and I drove up to spend some more with dad in NY...

Keeping with my tradition of spending New Years in a new country every year, I went to Toronto to celebrate my seventh consecutive years in a different country!

I'll admit, it wasn't the most fun, or intoxicated, NYE I've had. My brother went with me and since he's only 18 and the drinking age was 19, he couldn't get into the more fun places. Quite the damper... but at least I had a DD.

That's about it... And I need to get ready for work.

But while writing this blog, my sister and nephew stopped by and I learned that cats aren't the only things that try to catch laser pointers!

Not spoilering that either! biggrin

I'd say I'm about two thirds through my little vacation. Hung with family in TN for a week which included Christmas/grandparents' 50th anniversary and I'm now in Buffalo, NY crashing at my father's and snowboarding with my brother. Tonight I'll be celebrating New Years in Toronto. The seventh year I've spent New Years in a new country...

I'll blog again in more detail and with pictures once I have Internet access beyond just my iPhone.

This was a pretty good weekend... I went out after work Friday with some friends. We hung out, had some drinks and Kerry booked some tickets to see Twilight: New Moon on Sat.

The movie turned out to be pretty much what I expected. I thought it was funny as hell hearing at the women in the audience swooning whenever the Jake character took his shirt off or did something athletic. Aside from that the only gripe I had was the fact that soundtrack/score was too loud compared to the dialog and effects. I'm also not the biggest fan of drama, which there was certainly plenty of (SHOCKER!).

Anyway, the bar we went to was Ashley's choice and happens to be near the bar I used to work at, so I saw quite a few familiar faces. Especially after bar hoping from the first bar to the second.

I saw one of my old customers who teaches dance at a nearby private university. After saying hello and catching up a bit, he mentions that his students, including a cute Russian girl that he's told me about many times believing that she's my type, are having their fall showcase and Saturday was the last day. After describing one routine in particular, a somewhat risque performance where said Russian cutey begins a solo number draped in a long, crimson sheet and eventually goes topless while still only hinting at seeing too much flesh, I was sold! He said he'd leave some tickets under my name if I wanted to stop by.

So after the movie and some food, three of us went to the performance. And while it was far from the typical Saturday night and I've never really been into dance, I was certainly impressed by the grace, discipline, athleticism of the dancers. Not to mention the bodies on some of them! biggrin

Sunday was a much needed chilling/cleaning around the house day.

I'm finally back from the weekend's festivities... Some friends and I went downtown for a huge concert. The park that the festival was at has docks so we took my father's boat so we had a place to just crash after all the drinking. While everything started OK, but I began running into problems early on.

First, I went to pick up my friend Kerry and realized I forgot my confirmation printout for the tickets. After that we began running more and more behind schedule. Then, once we got to the marina, the dock was wet with condensation and I slipped and fell in to the water, ruining my iPhone, phone car charger and camera charger! frown

Fortunately my philosophy is that being upset or angry doesn't help the situation, so why bother?

Once we finally got underway things picked up. My brother met me with the ticket printout and the park hadn't opened yet so our friends who drove were waiting for us in line. The park gates opened late, but whatever. It was beautiful, warm, sunny day, the bands were awesome, the drinks were expensive and I ran into a bunch of random friends, old flames, co-workers, and even one crazy chica from this site.

It was the first Planetfest I've been to but definitely not the last.

I went out and celebrated a friend's birthday tonight. And while I forgot MY camera, I still ended up being the unofficial photographer for the night.

So, pictures to come soon...

Holy shit! I knew it had been a while since my last blog, but DAMN! 7 months?! That's just insane!

Well, there's plenty to write about so let's get started.

First, I'm no longer bartending. frown I was let go back in June. It really sucked since I had never been fired from anywhere before. But it's cool, I was too straight to be working at a gay bar anyway. After job hunting for a while with no luck, one of my friends, one of the few NOT in the service industry, told me her place was hiring. So as of five weeks ago, I'm now working at a call center and doing quite well.

I'm also the proud new owner of the iPhone. So needless to say, I have both the SG apps and love 'em. I just wish the damned thing had a flash for the camera!

Two weeks ago I traded my bike... My baby for over 6 years, a 2003 Kawasaki 636...

...will be making way for...

zoom image
..a brand new 2007 Yamaha Warrior. biggrin

I made the trade at the bike shop i used to work at, so they hooked me up big time! I rode up there the other day and saw my old one sitting there ready to be sold. That thing is so clean, they will have no problem finding a buyer. But I already miss it! frown

It's a hell of a transition going from sportbike to cruiser, going from a 636cc bike it 1700ccs, but I like it! It's a different kind of power, but there's plenty of it!

My friend Mike and I went to Universal Orlando last as a late birthday gift from him to me. We had a great time during the day at Islands of Adventure, but Halloween Horror nights was overall pretty lame. The haunted houses were the big let down, but I never have high hopes for them anyway. The one good thing was that a bunch of other friends were there too. With no prior planning, mind you... They just happened to be there the same night since the band one of them was in was playing the following night in the area. So at Horror nights we made our own fun!
