Ahhh... a normal length day at work with no big crises to throw things out of whack.

It is starting to feel a little more like home here. I'm recognizing folks on my way in/out of the campground, waving, and getting waves back. I stopped by the RV store to pick up some parts to upgrade my LP system for automatic changeover between the tanks - and realized I understood the system and knew what I was talking about. biggrin

Now I just need to get PJZ down for a visit. I'm seriously lacking in snuggles right now.

...the answer was 17 years...

I don't have a barbeque for the RV, but a friend has one that he added. It slips into a permanently mounted bracket on the side of his trailer and has a quick disconnect for the gas line. No problems that I have heard of.

Man, I was shocked when the latest release of Fedora Core was only available on DVD ISOs. I sat there looking at a pile of old servers I was planning on turning into a dev rig and a sandbox rig, and not a single one had a DVD drive. Most of them wouldn't recognize a DVD drive as a boot device. It sucked.

Network install probably would work, I just haven't tried it yet. Gentoo is a no, since we don't use Gentoo in any of our production environments. And no, none of them recognize a USB DVD as a boot device.

I was handjamming routing tables today! Yay for stupid handjamming. NO, PACKETS, GO OUT *THAT* INTERFACE! I DON'T CARE WHAT INTERFACE YOU CAME IN, GO OUT THE OTHER ONE!

... and this was not on a router, firewall, or any other sort of pass-through box.

I kept hoping it was just an allergy, but the only thing at all that has been introduced into my life that could possible be an allergen (recently I mean) has been the new tattoo, and the doctors seemed to think that wasn't the cause. I have lots of skin sensitivities to scented products, so I've always been careful to stick with the same detergents/shampoos/etc.

I shoulda put those Firefly references in my set!

So far I'm only taking the Naproxin when I know regularly painkillers won't do the job. I really don't want to end up taking any painkiller more than I need to. I dunno. Naproxin helps, but I'd do better with something stronger, I just don't know if they make something stronger that's also an anti-inflammatory.

I guess I'll figure all of this out after I know exactly what's wrong with me, though.

Eh, the handjamming of static routes was so some linux boxen connected to both a load balancer (where 99% of their traffic went) and a dumb switch (interface used for ssh sessions and occasional individual administration of cache stuff) would send traffic that came in on the dumb switch interface back out the dumb switch interface, since there was only one IP address that could access them from the switch interface and there was an issue with route default gateways and whatnot. The handjamming was necessary.
