Well, it's official, I'm back in The Bay! I have a few days before I start my new job (Monday). I'm pretty excited about it!

Hello SG Land!
It has been about a year since I last blogged. I'm moving back down to The Bay after almost four years in Portland, OR.
The company I am leaving has an uncertain future (we've had three layoffs in the last year). I put my resume out on Monster.com, which I strongly recommend to anyone searching for a job.
I accepted a job in Santa Clara, CA and start on January 3. The next couple weeks are going to be dedicated to packing up my shit.
I'm excited to move back "home". All of my family is down there and I'm excited to see them all again on a somewhat regular basis.

So I guess it's been a really long time since I've posted something. I've been pretty busy with work, which is great because I love my job! After our company meeting last week it was reported that we are going to come out with a profit for the year, which is amazing considering how things are going.
I'm actually taking two weeks off to visit my family in the Bay Area for the holidays. I'm pretty excited to visit. I've still got tons of friends and ALL of my family is there so it will be great to see everyone!
Other than that, I don't really have anything else to report. Sad right? Oh well, such is life I suppose...

Whoa, so it's been over a month since I've posted here.
Unfortunately, I don't have a ton to report. I've been working a TON of overtime which is cool but doesn't leave a ton of time for much else. It's weird working a ton of overtime after my company just had a lay off because there was lack of work. The thing about my position (maintenance) is that there is always stuff to fix and work on.
One downside to working all the overtime is that I haven't had much time to work on my tattoo. I'm really starting to get the itch, I just need that ink!
Um....Oh, I saw Cannibal Corpse and Behemoth this past Wednesday which was fucking amazing! It's been a really long time since I've seen either of them live.
Well, I guess that's all for now...I know, what a lame post. But what can I say? I haven't been up to much, I just wanted to give a shout out to all my friends here in SG Land! Hope all is well!

My sister and a friend of hers just drove up from the Bay today. It's so cool having her here. Unfortunately I won't be able to spend too much time with her with work and all 
. But, I am taking a RIF (reduction in force) day on Wednesday; so I'll get to spend some time with them at least.
Other than that, things are going ok. Work is slow right now, lots of our customers are totally reducing their requests due to lack of demand. We actually just had to lay 27 people off on Friday. It sucks. The company is really cool and the owners really value their employees, so much so that in our last company meeting one of the owners broke down in tears because of the upcoming layoff.
Anyways, sorry for the downer....
Other news: Got a new DnD crew together. These people are really a lot of fun to play with. The hard part is, as with most groups, getting everyone together. I don't really have a lot to do most nights, but my buddies seem to always have stuff going on (poker, hockey, etc.). Oh well....

Well, I have to take an unpaid day off today. I guess that's what happens when things get slow around the factory... The way I see it though, at least I still have a job. So, I might be heading up to the Ape Caves today...we'll see what happens.
Also, I was looking for some upcoming shows and I found out that Obituary is coming! Also, Necrophagist/Dying Fetus are coming back, and Mayhem will be coming as well. It's about time I got to go to another show. I missed Kreator last week :o(.
I've still got some computer so I don't get to check in as often as I would like. How's everyone in SG land???

Well, apparently the Internet issues I was having were only MY issues, and not a house issue. I took my computer to a service place and it'll cost more to fix it that it is to get a new one...so someone is going to be saving their pennies I guess.
In other news, I went to California to visit my family this past weekend. It was a lightening fast trip, but it was nice nonetheless. I got to visit with my grandma. She had a stroke a while back and she's declining very quickly, so it was very good to see her. She didn't recognize me at first, but after a while she came around.
Does anyone use Twitter? I'd honestly never heard of it until this past weekend when my sister told me about it. She talked me into creating an account, I'm not really sure what it's all about yet, but if anyone is interested in "following" me, my name is TacoMeat_Kel. Not sure where the name came from, I took a vote from the people in the room and that's what they came up with...
