The new Royal Navy Type 45 Destroyers, one of the most advanced warships on the face of the Earth will feature iPod docks in every crew members cabin with 5.1 surround sound. Yeah, you read that right.... if this story is true (which i really doubt it is) then aside from it being a waste of taxpayers money then the Royal Navy are taking a huge gamble that the iPod will actually still be a popular device in 2009 when the first Type 45 Destroyer is due to commence active service plus the time period in which the warship is in active service. I mean, come on for fucks sake... i call bullshit on this story because not even the Ministry of Defense is that dumb.

I am feeling rather annoyed about the world today. I am sick to death of Max Mosely and his rambling bullshit and i'm sick o death of hearing about these bloody cartoons and all the carrying on they're causing... i mean, i would have thought myself to be quite liberal but no one should be scared from saying what they want or printing what they like in a newspaper because some nutjobs believe in a god so much that what someone might say or print could offend them. Of course it is their right to complain just as much as it is the papers right to print the cartoons but no one has the right to print 'death to denmark' or 'behead the infidels' on banners and wave them around like it was some kind of nobel cause. What sickens me even more is that it is becoming quite evident in the middle eastern media that these cartoons where so important to be talking about that they forgot to initially mention that a ferry with over 1,400 people on board had sunk in the red sea, that's why the story took so long to break on to western newswires - for fucks sake, get your priorities sorted and your heads collectively checked.

Anyway, on a more pleasant and calmer note i have been listening to the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex OST and it's pretty good so my 'currently listening' track has been lifted from it - check it out as it's a beautiful track, reminds me quite a lot of Björk really. I also managed to play around with iDVD the other night and made a DVD using a copy of Final Fantasy: Advent Children (a very good movie btw, it is what Final Fantasy: Spirts Within aught to have been) that i downloaded a few months ago and although it took nearly 8hrs to compose, encode and burn the results where amazing - i was honestly expecting some dodgy audio or pixilation now and again especially since i was needlessly downgrading NTSC to PAL (slower frame rates) but no, the whole DVD was amazing and the menus looked fantastic but i just wish it was a little faster to produce as 8hrs hogging my processor kinda sucks.

YUSHi >>>> Gauron
I told you on sunday that i would probably change my name to something else...

It looks like i may travel down to Grange-over-Sands on thursday to check over my Grandmothers B&B has it's been left standing unattended since Xmas as she is staying with my auntie in Bristol over the winter period because she is expecting a baby soon (my auntie that is). I may take a camera and make a video or something ~ really it's just an excuse to play with iMovie.

japanesetv.mov ~ Quicktime Movie (75MB)

^^ I was sent this japanese TV show segment on sunday and i finally managed to watch it last night and it's crazy ~ it must be the japanese equivalent to Graham Norton. But seriously, during the video they start playing around with live fish before eating them so i was left thinking, would this be ever allowed to happen on UK or even US TV without the channels HQ being bombarded with hate mail? Before you watch it i must say i have no idea why i was sent it since i don't speak much japanese and the video isn't fan subbed so i have no real idea what is being said except that the MP3 i have been linking to at the bottom of my journal for the past couple of days is performed at the end of the movie. Hmmmm.... you know, i guess that might answer why i was sent the sendit.com link eh?

Anyway, it's feeling a little more like winter at the moment isn't it? it's bloody cold outside.

Keep well (warm) everyone...

Feedback this morning regarding my selection of animated adult entertainment seems to be possitive. She sent me a text saying she enjoyed Milk Money apparently... as Hentai goes it's not a bad example i guess but it's a little, well, unwholesome so i don't know if i should be surprised or not... heh.

Anyway, i'm going to go see my dad today at the home - i try not to think about it too much because i soon wimp out of it as i really don't know what to say to him when i see him or rather i don't really know what i can say to him so as you can probably guess it leaves me feeling pretty uncomfortable...

Take care everyone...

Well, it looks like i'm moving to else where in the UK in the next few months. My mother will graduate as a radiographer soon as there is no work for her here in Cumbria so she has to move away so i will move with her too. I haven't got a clue where it is we're actually moving as it depends on where she gets a job, but Edinburgh, Leeds and Bristol have my votes as they where the cities on the list of locations needing people qualified in what will be her line of work.

I quite like where i live right now but employment opportunities are slim to none here so while Carlisle isn't a bad place to live (ignore the nay-sayers) it would be best for me to move elsewhere and besides, when we move it will probably be easier for me to attend group meets than it is now especially if we move to London which we may just do but i think both me and my mother would rather avoid the place if possible. Well, anyway, it's something to think about i guess...

6.40 am on a sunday...

So, i may have been a little off with the myspace.com remark from my previous journal entry but hey...

Btw, i did eventually have Azumanga Daioh imported (£44 R1 imported inc. shipping and tax vs. R2 £100 in HMV) and it arrived friday morning, watched the final volume on friday night (a seven episode marathon) and it was so sad to see the series end. I really did feel a little depressed after it as the realization stuck me during the graduation scene that this is the last episode, there are no more after this - it all ended on a happy note but i guess i was just sad because nothing in years has made me laugh so much as Azumanga Daioh has and Vol. 5 really went and pulled out all the gags (we even get to see the Yukari-Mobile in full terrifying action, New York cabbies have fuck all on Yukari!) to go out with a huge lung busting bang.

I can not urge you enough to check this series out even if you're not a anime fan, it's distributed in the UK and the US by ADV Films and is available from most online DVD rental services.

Update
Please donate to British Divers Marine Life Rescue - you can use PayPal. It seems these guys have quite an expenses bill to pay, something they mounted up over the weekend with the whale.

My ISP will never learn, they've been bugging me about the amount of bandwidth i have been using and while they have a valid point they're also upgrading me to an 8mbps inkernet connection sometime after April for FREE! w00t! That is, if i am still living here... dum dum dummmm.

Also, if anyone wants a £25 voucher for two months free membership with LOVEFiLM then message me as i received another two vouchers in the mail today with my DVD, more info can be found HERE.

I swear this site is becoming more and more like myspace.com... just think about it for a minuite, browse a few journals and note how the same old content is passed around as if writing something is better than nothing and you'll see that i am justified in my initial prognosis. All we're missing is some terrible music being played to us via an even worse flash based and/or windows media player which throws up an error message before we can read or for that matter even find where the first sentence on the page begins.

On the damn awesomeness scale this hits a massive eleven out of ten...

I don't know if i am behind the times on this story or not (i probably am) but i was watching the 1UP Show in iTunes the other day and one of the segments featured a guy known as 'Gameboy' Jason Degroot or even '6955' who has managed to put together eight old Nintendo Famicoms and produce a drum machine and bloody hell some of the stuff he was doing was just amazing. You can check out his website and he provides some mp3's for anyone to listen to (read the first page carefully as they're not clearly marked). You need to check out the 1UP Show to watch how he does it however because each episode is usually well over 125MB and that maybe a little bit much effort to subscribe and whatever not just to check this out i have cut up the episode in Quicktime Pro so it only features the segment i am talking about and you can watch that if you like by clicking on the link below.
