All motivation has been sucked out of me... trying to work on the stuff I have due next week, can't do it. I can barely make myself type this blog, much less do any real work.

Yay! Devilins has a new set out!

Fuck this shit is getting old. Every couple days, for some reason that tech support couldn't answer, they send me a new password for this site. I try to log in, it fails, I check my email and sure enough, 'we received a request to change your password' appears in my inbox. Why the fuck does this happen?

Was looking it over, the reading for next week's classes isn't too horribly long, but I still shouldn't have squandered this last week that I had off. Especially with a presentation for next week and another the following week. Meh. I'm exactly halfway through my story now, what I have done is seven and a half pages collectively. At least I got something worked on, I guess it wasn't a completely wasted vacation.

Ah insomnia, my only friend. At least you never leave me... damn it...

So I might not be screwed after all. I thought that the page limitation on my detective fiction story, 15 pages, would make it too uneventful and easy to figure out. But now that I've got the end and the beginning written out at about 4-5 pages total, I think I should be able to make some good twists and turns to take the reader on a nice trip. The trouble now is getting the story to go where I need it to go... but I have a good 10 pages to work my way through it, so it should work.

At first I thought it was weird that I started at the end, but the more I think about it the more I've realized that I don't write any of my stuff from start to finish, I always get pieces done as the ideas hit me and have to piece it together after.

I wish I had more time to write, school takes up all my free time, and if I wasn't in school a job would do the same. I should start playing the lottery...

Gotta stop being a slacker... Day two of spring break has come and gone and I still haven't done a single thing I need to. It's just so hard to be motivated to work when I have free time to catch up on the games I have. Doesn't help that I ended up picking up the walking dead game today. At least I've gotten a tiny bit of writing done for my detective fiction story, but nothing substantial.

My cat is an idiot. I'm trying to sleep here and I hear this loud banging and such. So I get up wondering what he broke this time. Next thing I know he jumps up on the bed dragging one of his toys with him. I figure he just wants to play so I grab the other end of the toy and try to get him to let go. Instead of getting all happy and excited he's sitting there, toy stuck to his paw, giving me a troubled look. So I grab his paw and find that one of his claws is stuck. I try to work it out gently but he refuses to hold still and runs off. But the end of the toy catches a pile of books, which pins it down and twists his arm back as he continues to try to run. I ended up having to corner him, pick him up and practically sit on him to get him to hold still, I popped the toy off his claw easily and hid that toy so it doesn't happen again. But if the little bastard had just held still from the get go it would have ended less painfully for him.

So I seem to have begun at the end. Been working on my story, I just finished writing the ending before even starting on a beginning. I've honestly never done that before, I usually start at the beginning and see where the characters lead me. So now I have to figure out how to get to the ending I wrote. Should be interesting. It just sucks that I'm limited to fifteen pages. I have so many characters I want to flesh out, relationships to get into, but not nearly enough space to do them justice. I'm definitely going to have to expand the story later. Who knows, maybe even turn it into a book. It wouldn't be the first short story I've written that ended up turning into a novel.

Hooray for playing hooky!!! I decided to skip today's class and start my spring break early. And surprisingly, I've been relatively productive. I know have the main ideas for my detective fiction story prepared, I know more or less who the murderer is, how and why they did it, and how my detective is going to figure it out. Now I just need to start writing and see how it plays out. That'll be the easy part. The hard stuff are the presentations and research papers I have to start working on. Gonna be a shitty way to spend a vacation... Oh well, at least I have a few extra days to get some gaming done.

Today was a cool day at school. Instead of going to class the professor let us go so we could attend a lecture given by Philip Levine, the 18th poet laureate of the United States. This was such a rare opportunity considering our school doesn't get people of that high a caliber visiting campus. I was glad the professor let us go. He read some of his poetry, talked a bit, he was pretty funny. My only regret is that I didn't think to go buy his books to get them signed. I didn't think about it till I was almost home. I probably won't get a chance like that again. And the people I knew who were still on campus didn't have the money or they could have picked them up for me. Oh well, was still cool that I got to see him speak.

So I'm watching The Walking Dead when this happens...

Apparently my cat is a fan too! And damn that was a good episode.

Finally got to start the new Tomb Raider, and so far it's freaking awesome. it's just too bad I have to start working on school stuff soon so I won't be able to play much. Though I fully intend on playing tonight after Talking Dead...

So about six hours after I finally started and two or three hours less than I expected, I managed to get through a 300 page book in one sitting. Which means that I'm no longer screwed for tomorrow's class. Though I will be very tired. And what a book! Murderous vegans (oh yeah, you heard right), bombs in elephants, and some boogie woogie feng shui!

It also had a Japanese chef dropped into a giant vat of boiling water as a sort of revenge for the lobsters he cooked... did I mention that there were vegans killing people? They found it to be a very poetic way to kill him.

Wish I could say it was time for sleep, but insomnia fucking sucks...
