I haven't made it known (at least on a wide basis... yet - just here and there comments and/or posts), but something the bosses were talking about that'd been mentioned to me recently became set in stone this AM...

I will be taking on a new position at work - one that didn't exist before (though, even I admit, probably should have) that takes advantage of my detail-oriented skills (it seems it was unanimous amongst the bosses that I was the right choice! ...wow!)
I'm excited and - for the first time in this sort of thing - not the least bit worried. Odd - but I like the feeling, it's intriguing!

the current intent is to train someone(s) on the work that only I currently do (and won't be doing with the new position) in the weeks prior to my vaca, so that when I return I'll be able to start my new position - and they'll take the advantage of my being gone to move my office without interrupting my work.

can hardly sleep ... but I'd best do so - I have my girls this weekend!
