FallCon Survival And Vikings Withdrawal?
FallCon yesterday was enjoyable, if not entirely successful sales-wise - apologies on that, Vas!
Had more people recognize me than I remembered *laughs* ... that's always a good thing, right?
Seeing familiar faces (there as guests and otherwise) such as Lance Ward, Andrew Dobson, Ryan Dow, Steven Stwalley, Jeremy Olson ... please, forgives!, anyone that I may have missed/forgotten the names of!
Our tablemate was talented Joel Vollmer and I met a few others such as Fes Works, though Joe Combs didn't happen to be at his table when I passed by (I like his webcomic *smiles*). Again, forgives on missing names - I'm so horrible with names!
For a period of time we even "acquired" a young, shy, and talented li'l artist from amongst the on-and-off crowds of people - she seemed to break out of her shell at least for a bit *smiles*... I understand shyness completely, and she did have artistic talent.
As usual, even though this time I didn't draw a thing, myself, it's reminded me that I should at least try and draw a bit more.
At these past Fall & SpringCons, when I have drawn, I've been encouraged by several that I should draw *shy smile*.
I am well aware, however, that anything I draw would likely be mildly incoherent and plotwise would be very chaotic ... but maybe, just maybe, there's something to that?
While I haven't offloaded the photos from my camera yet (there's two weekends of my daughters still on there as well *smirks*), I did notice (too late *sighs*) that the flash was acting up and some of the photos were either pure darkness or pure light...
damn. but there are survivors, and I will do my best to post those when I get the chance/gumption to do so.
On a side note, Mr D - you were right, for as much as I disliked Saw IV with a passion, Saw's V, VI, & 3D were decent and mostly enjoyable overall...
I still don't know if I'd ever want to own IV, even as the cinematiq completist I tend to be ... it just bugs the 7 hells outta me (still).
On an additional side note, yes I'm still a fan of the Vikings - but I haven't been able to watch a single game.
They're broadcasting them all in HD now, and my TV doesn't recognize HD signals (I've had to return netflix DVDs that were HD without watching, as the TV dislikes 'em *sighs*).
I didn't even get to see their (one) win thusfar.
And, yes, I am rooting for them to get their stadium - say what you will, but the Twinks were given more opportunity and less hassle and I think the Vikings should (at least) be given the options the Twinks were with their stadium deal.
