why have so many conversations/posts (and, yes, rants) of late become discussions/arguments on either politics or religions...?! seriously, it's gettin' scary!

what happened to the conversations/posts that led to sexiness or silliness or silly sexiness or monkey-bacon references... oh, wait. that last one DID happen recently.
