Mad Weekend / Cleaning Like Mad!
*whew* this is a mad weekend - and it's just begun!

work was slightly slow, but since returning home...?

Afternevening Madness:

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

I was doing laundry (the new sheets/pillowcases for the girls' new beds arriving tomorrow) and, when headin' t'move my laundry from washer to dryer, an african lady and her son were in front of the laundry room door clicking at each other.
As they were blocking the entrance to the laundry room, I asked if I could help...
"key no work" - she showed me, so - noticing something simple - I suggested, "try turning it?"
amazingly (not!) it worked and she shouted down the hallway : "You 'ave to tuuuuuuurn it!"
as I moved my laundry, she and her son began rooting through the garbage cans...!
So - as if I wasn't already weirded out by them not knowing to turn a key in the first place - but the fact they did so they could root through the garbage cans?!?

Shortly thereafter someone pointed out to me that the front door to our building is suddenly broken now as well (it worked fine yesterday) ... *sighs*
Now the door won't shut unless you pull on it with all your might!
It looks like somebody used a screwdriver or something similar to pull it off the frame (it wasn't bent there yesterday, as it's fairly obvious, and there's flathead screwdriver-shaped dents along it's edge *growls*).
I am personally not the least bit amused - of course, I contact the office when back in my apartment - and I was the first to call about it...
oddly enough, it seems I'm usually the first to call about something damaged or strange in the building. I wonder why that is - doesn't anyone else have concerns about safety, etc.?!
Even when some lights were out in the hallway for a couple weeks and I called about them, they were surprised the caretakers hadn't done anything about it (don't look at me - the caretakers pretend not to speak english in my presence - even though I'm caught what I presume is the family's "father" speaking english to someone else).

ANYways and moving on...

as mentioned, the girls' new beds will arrive tomorrow - between 7a-10a. I'm hopin' towards the earlier end, so I can have everything ready and "back to norm" before they arrive on the morrow.
I've been emptying their bedroom and hallway, cleaning and prepping - I even got to vacuum parts of their room that, due to my daughters' "method" of cleaning, I haven't been able to vacuum in months!
I even slightly re-did my own bedroom and intend on sleeping in my actual bed tonight
- a scary thought since I haven't slept in it this year (yet), but instead have crashed on the couch!
...of course, now I have to take apart their old beds and remove them - preferably tonight *sighs*. Not looking forward to more work!

On a side note:

I'm not going to believe everything you believe, I'm sorry to say, so - yes - I'm bound to offend you in some way.
But I'm not going to push my beliefs upon you - so don't push your beliefs upon me... that goes beyond offensive.
We're all entitled to our own POV, but when you push your POV upon me and state that mine is "wrong," then the line's been crossed.

Enjoy the weekend...!!
Next on the docket (after the weekend) - get new shoes and new belt, since both have basically died in the past week and I've been "dealing with it," aggravatingly so, I admit, for days now!

EDIT (9p) :

the temporarily clean girls' bedroom *smirks*

the old/faded "bedcover" (above the new sheets, below my mothre's blanket) doesn't quite seem to "fit" now, does it? *sighs*
oh well - it's not as if I've got anyone to "impress" with my bed, do I?

Oh well smile
enough for the evenin'! Time to (finally) eat ... and then crash thereafter - I've got beds arriving in the AM and my beasties afterwards! biggrin
