It's one of the shittiest feelings people experience, and really tough to get past, especially after such a long relationship.
It's really great that you won't let him impose control over you; a lot of people don't have the strength of character to tell people they're not allowed to do that. That can never make you a bad person, and don't let anyone make you feel like is does.
