so things are good I guess, Still hate school but I'm doing rather well, A and 2 B's I think as it stands now.
Been doing a lot of work on the boat and fixing all the shit that was wrong with it, finally have it just about dialed in, one more run which should get done this week and the timing will be locked in. So after repositioning the mag and getting it to fire we started to dial it in (also learned the mag was locked out). after many start ups though the battery was tired and we were not able to verify since we backed off the advance thinking that might be why it was having trouble turning over when in fact it may have just been the tired battery.
Spent two days working on the trailer as well, took the axles from over the springs and put them underneath to get more ground clearance since it was ridiculously low

While i had the wheels off I went ahead and replaced all the bearings and races. All went well except for when I had an angle grinder cutting disk explode and nearly took the tip of my finger off.

So other then that nothing really new going on
Oh except this time I am down to my last week on SG.... I think.....

so after going thru the carbs on the boat and cleaning them out real good (it was apparent that they were untouched when they guy had the engine at his shop) I have the boat running now and holding an idle. it has its throttle response back as well. Now I'll just have to find some time to go put it on the water and see how it does when its under a load.
this is this morning firing it up after the carb cleaning. (not bad for a blackberry video. Next project is to get some headers for it

So yesterday I hooked up the boat to take it out to the lake and do some test and tune on it. I went over to my buddies house and decided to do a little wrenchin there just to check some basics like spark plug gap rocker lash etc... well first thing we noticed is the spark plug gap was way off (this coming back from the engine shop) set to .035 (thousandths of an inch) when it should have been between .018-.020 at the most, so we re-gapped and proceeded. Next thing with the valve covers off we check for rocker lash (it has hydraulic lifters which means zero lash) some had between .010 and .012 and others had none, so yet again red flags are going up. Next we find that the two rockers that are purposely shaved down on one corner to clear the valve cover on a specific location where not where they were supposed to be which caused the valve cover to be shaved down in a couple spots putting metal shavings into the engine. We decide it best to look further and what would you know we found a push rod that was being shaved away by the guides putting even more shavings into the block. we pulled the rocker and found the push rod was inserted upside down. At this point we said screw the lake and backed it up to the garage and took all the rockers off to inspect push rods and found 8 different brands at least out of 16 push rods. several where scarred from the guides as well as some others again upside down on top of that they had different lengths mixed in as well. So anyway went and bought new push rods installed them set the rocker arms and now just have to figure out a day to go test. I'm super pissed cause this came from the engine shop that way and I paid damn good money for what was supposed to be a good engine. Needless to say my buddy will be writing up a bill for parts and labor and I will be sending it the the engine builder for doing a shitty job.

I found my jacket that I thought I had lost or left at the cleaners 3 years ago, best part is there was 40 bucks in the pocket
I've been trying to upload a video on here and its not working so far. Nothing fancy but I couldnt help but video my cat playing with a mouse. He's been catching mice and lizards lately and keeps them alive as long as possible to play with them. Eventually they end up dying but he also likes to bring them in the house from time to time. I had one day were he was clawing at something on my bed, after further inspection I noticed it was a pretty good sized blue bellied lizard under my covers. Anyway thats about all the update I have right now, other then the boat races this past weekend which was a blast. I just wish they had them this close more often. So yea pretty much just been a home body lately
Finally the boat races make it out here to a very close venue and I am free this weekend to go. 27-28 MAR at Puddingstone in San Dimas. its been years since I've been around to watch these races and usually have to go to Parker Az to watch.
These particular boats pictured are known as K boats and are Blown Alcohol Injected flat bottom boats that race at speeds of 140+ which makes for much more exciting races then cars in my book

So I decided to start taking pictures of all the weird positions the cat sleeps in. The family has had several cats and this on cracks me up. I dont know how he does it cause some of the ways he sleeps does not look very comfy. Monster's cool though a bit overly affectionate but probably one of the better cats I've had

It was Great getting out last night and seeing some familiar faces. It was just a great meeting some new people as well. Looks like I will try to make my way out to Taco Tuesday for some dollar tacos.
