I'm easily twelve types of tired as I write this... 
Updates have been sporadic as I've been set-up as Connecticut-life & touchbase to DarkRabbit for his 60-day stay in Orange County. We've spent the past few days coming up with the logistics of keeping him sane, content and with something to look forward to when coming back.
There's going to be weekly book packages sent from Amazon.com, the first arriving most likely the day after I have an address to send it to. There's no limit on letter writing or receiving so, knowing how much time he'll have on his hands, I expect a pretty quick re-emergence of long hand letters. Being truely addicted to this site, DR will be still posting (though long-distance) and will still be receiving his comments from his Friends List. *hint hint - keep droping him notes*
As a small gesture of send-out, DR, chockfullofnuts and myself hatched a plot for an inpromptu dinner party. I made DarkRabbit responsible for manning the grill for his spice-rubbed 3lb london broil and veg kabobs. I took on steaming 8-10 artichokes, concocting garlic mayonaise & a soy brown beurre sauce and risotto-styled rice. PornStarGuy happily drank and stayed out of the way and ElmCityDrunk provided a cooler of beer & DJ'ing prowess. We gorged, drank and guffawed. Happily it wasn't the sober, saddened event I'd thought it would end up devolving into.
In other news, the old bookstore I'd help run finally closed its doors to the public on Saturday night. The current manager (a stand-up guy and a soon-to-be SGCT member) threw a closing party inviting everyone who'd ever been on staff!
It was a chance to catch-up with old friends that have been nearly impossible to track down over the past 3-4 years. Perhaps the highlight was the long-forgotten videotape from the retirement party (retiring at the age of 25-28) of one of the shop's most beloved managers. It odd 30 minutes of embarrassment showed off everyone's horrible hairstyle choices from 8 years ago as well as introducing one half of newly-formed couples what their other halves habits of swearing, drinking and smoking where like. 
'Twas too fucking funny!
Tomorrow will most likely be cycling around New Haven, at least once the padlock key to AlienPrincess' is found. Probably a mission to save the remnants of beer from last night. Near definitely a huddle with a local computer tech on replacing the motherboard battery to my ancient POS Thinkpad. Perhaps I'll leave it at that, saving something for next time.
