It's been about a month since my last journal. Being single has given me a lot of free time to create, so I have been shooting like crazy. I also took on a second job, working for a friend at JOY RIDE Vintage For Men. It's been really fun so far, and it's nice to have an excuse to dress up for work. (see current default pic)
I'm going to Seattle in about a week and a half, and I'm pretty excited, I've never been, and I hear it's beautiful. If any of you Seattlites want to get together for coffee of something, hit me up! I'll be bringing my camera too, for some shoots. Here's some recent work;
Model: Ludella Hahn
Model: Qetesh
Model: Sarah Foss
Model: x Ali
That's all for now. Hope life and love shines on you all.

I live in Orange County, and the Fair is in town right now. I've never been one for rides, so it's always been about the food. Here's what I had tonight: Cheese on a stick, chocolate covered bacon, shrimp and octopus cocktail, a chocolate malt with my cigar, and also this:

YEP! Deep fried butter.
There were two choices: Cinnamon and Garlic. We opted for Garlic. I got two bites down, dipped in marinara. My survival instincts told me, "No more." Honestly, if I took another bite, I'm sure it would have begun a Barf-O-Rama, a la "Stand By Me."
In other news, I have a photo shoot with my sis tomorrow morning. We are shooting her as Frida Kahlo, for submission to a local art show, that she has been in for the last couple of years. The show is a celebration of Frida, and all the art is depictions of her. Wish me luck!

If there's one thing I've never been good at, it's updating journals. Here's some of my more recent work:

Hope you enjoyed them. There is of course more, at VonFrankenstein.com, and you can also find me on deviantArt, and Model Mayhem.

Let me begin with a disclaimer;
I am a practicioner, but far from an expert. The procedures shown below are experiments with the goal of learning more about body modification in general. In no way are they to be taken as instruction or any kind of "How-To." The actions depicted can be tremendously dangerous and possibly fatal if not done properly.
Bottom line; PLEASE, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.

Dermal punching; Is it for everyone? I doubt it, but I have been hearing so much about it, I figured we should really get our heads together and really try our hand at it.
I realize that many of you may not Know what this process is. Essentially, it's like a hole-puncher for skin. Traditional piercing needles cut a clean crescent shaped incision, but don't actually remove a significant amount of tissue. Many piercers believe that the key to a successful cartilage piercing is the complete removal of tissue, especially in large gauge piercings.
The following pics are from our first attempt. We really did a lot of planning and research on this one. More so than ever before. Everything went very well. Nothing happened that we were not prepared for. Big props to all that helped;
Danielle for (wo)manning the video camera
Kayla for the still pix
Justin for being an incredible apprentice, and assisting the procedure
Brian for doing an amazing job, keeping it together, helping with research, and really pushing to get this underway.
Enough talk, here we go...
