7:48 in the morning on a Sunday. I'm on my loveseat, watching Jumanji, drinking my usual 7-11 coffee thing (only 33% actual coffee). I look outside, and it's snowing. Wow, I'm happy right now.

Had a very nice week actually...I made $100 fixing my friend's computer. Immediately spent it on an Anti-iPod and 2 dvds: "Alice On The Wall", and "Darker Side of The Rainbow: Alternate Universe For The Chemically Impaired Edition" (2 more fine syncs from your friends at Evening Star Gifts!).

This is Velvetone's girlfriend, Alicia, guest writer for the day. biggrin Velve is being lazy and not updating, so I'm helping! I threatened to write nasty things, but *I'm* not like that, no no. wink Besides, he'd just erase it!

To introduce myself quickly - I'm a digital art student, anime junky, Dance Dance Revolution loving, computer addict with a passion for purple. I don't know that there's anything I wouldn't like/love if it were purple!

Me and Velve met beta testing a video game. Is that not a wonderful testament to our geekitude?! I love it! I met him in a virtual club - he had purple hair, so of course I had to say hi! love Then he followed me around like a little puppy for weeks. So sweet - I just had to adopt him. miao!!

He is the sweetest guy you could meet and one of the tallest too, plus he's really cuddly!! Ooh, I just worship him. So don't anybody lay hands on him, he's MINE! Watch it! heehee

And now back to your regularly scheduled program...

Hooray fer snow!
It's snowin' here. First snow storm of the year love Golly, i sure do love winter!
Interestingly enough it snowed like this, exactly one year ago...and last year was one of the worst winters in Baltimore history. Which i would adore if it weren't for the fact that I actually have something to do this year, school, and I literally have to drive over the river and through the woods to get there...along with a bunch of farm land, and a major boulevard.
I uploaded a pic of snow, for you poor bums in CA and places like that where snow is afraid to fall. Snow doesnt look good on camera, just looks like a dirty camera.
Also changed my profile pic, cuz everyone seems to be doin it lately. While I did make the picture itself , i'm afraid credit for the idea goes to the regulars at somethingawful.com's "Photoshop Phriday". Anyways, thats all for now. I'm gonna go do someting snow-related...like freeze my naughty bits off. Toodles, luv.

...And I was right! Another boring day today. But, to make up for it, I'll post pics of my Geta sandals. They're traditional Japanese sandals.

Velve's Getas FAQ

Yes, they're exactly what they look like...a flat wood block with two teeth coming out from the bottom, about 3 inches long each.

Yes, they're really from Japan, but no, I didn't get them in Japan,, I ordered them. I've never been there, but Alicia and I are really excited about going one day (she's an anime geek, and I'm just a culture junkie)

Yes, I actually do wear them. All summer, unless I'm going out somewhere where I know there'll be uneven ground, or alot of walking (ie. hiking, or the beach).

No, I haven't fallen down in them yet.

No, they dont slide around or make the world's most annoying shoe clacking, cuz there's treads nailed to the bottom of the teeth.

Yes, they actually comfortable (for flat pieces of wood).

No, cuz of the spacing and heights of the teeth, like, 90% of yer body weight is on the teeth, so you aren't constantly falling forward.

Yes, yer absolutely right, I am 6'6" barefoot, and the last thing i need is 4" high sandals, but i love 'em anyway, damn it!

and Yes, stairs are a bitch in these, but thats about the only everyday challenge. And like i said, i havent fallen yet.

Pretty uneventful day, except me, katie, and the poke house crew went out to Fuddruckers for Katie's b-day.....

ok, Poke house crew...that might need some explanation. It's a group of people that work at Kinko's (or are in some way connected to it) that katie met when she worked there. They're a really cool bunch of....well, Kinkos workers...comic and anime geeks, coffee house geeks, film geeks, art geeks. they're all cool, really, i swear.
"So i don't get it...poke house? do they run a gay brothel?" you might ask! Nah, nothing so glamorous, i'm afraid. The core members of the poke house crew, live in this house, the Poke House. and they rest of the crew just hangs there cuz it's a groovy joint in which to dwell.
Poke house, yeah, yeah, I'm getting to that. See they discovered that the last 4 digits of the Poke house phone number spell out Poke. So, when people asked they said "4-1-0-#-#-#-Poke" And so it was dubbed the Poke House!

Anyways, that was my day. I was gonna post pics of my geta sandals, since it was such a boring day, but thanks to the poke house deal, I can save that for another boring day! Which will most likely be tomarrow...

Yay, people are leaving comments and stuff! Y'all rawk. Anyways...

I wish I could say I had an angsty Thanksgiving like all the cool people here. Mine was fun! Lotsa goofy stuff happened. My aunt ran out of big spoons, so she dug into the BBQ set...and stuck a potato salad spoon into mashed potatoes. Now, this potato salad spoon wasnt made of the hardest plastic in the world. In fact the flexyness made quite a fine catapult when someone decide to scoop out some mashed potatoes. biggrin They didnt fly very far, but damn it, they flew. This caused me to laugh real hard and bang my head on the shifty-eyed-Jesus picture which was hanging behind me.

So I got beat up by Jesus when someone built a potato catapult. Thanksgiving rawks! biggrin

Yay, i'm comfy :-) Or, at least, i will be by Tuesday. Went to Value City and bought me a spiffy new loveseat biggrin It's green with the typical wood trim thats on couches and stuff. The salesman guy was cool too, he worked for Gibson guitars long ago. (he's 60-70 sumthin years old now) It was pretty fun talkin to him for a while.

Oh, and if anyone bored enough to still be reading this remembers (as if it was 30 years ago tongue) the game Doom, and maybe still has a copy of it lying around, I found this one program Doom Legacy. It's not a Doom clone or anything. It just a little extra overhaul to the engine. You need to already have a version of Doom or Doom II to run it (or just download the doom.WAD or doom2.WAD files off...whatever you might use) It's pretty shibby seeing transparency effects in a 1152 x 864 resolution version of Doom.

Love me! I learned how to play a new Ani song today! (yay for rhyming!) It's a lots spiffy one, too! Buildings and Bridges. Now that i finally dug out my capo, and can play, like, maybe 3 more Ani songs than i could before. I swear, she's had, like, 15 records, and uses a different tuning for, like every couple songs, just so I can't play the all! tongue Ani rules! not to mention she reminds me of Voltaire (the SG gal, o course, not the happy goth musician, or the, 18th century philosopher) and vice versa. Sometimes those dreds, they just..oh..:swoon:

Yay, welcome to my journal that no one will ever actually look at, and i'll lose interest with in a couple weeks smile

I'll start off with sayin that, i don't really look all hott (ooh, i spell it with 2, count 'em 1...2 T's biggrin ) like that. M'girlie sent me a pic of me that reminded me of the Desperado movie/soundtrack cover. So I dug out my leather jacket and Zapper wink and tried doin it completely. This is hottest, though not most accurate. Coincidentally, this is also the hottest I've ever looked. i must take bad quality pics, in the dark, of just the top 1/6th of my body from now on!
