And we have arrived at yet another new blog.
Yes, I know, it has taken me forever and a day. Good reason though: College.
That is right ladies and gentlemen, my life has been consumed by college. Mostly my HIV/AIDS Service learning course which has taken an interesting turn of events whereby I am expected to teach and encourage young men (19-22) to be aware of any stigma they have around homosexuality. Of course, the word homosexuality is full of horrendous connotations so I have opted to rename what we are doing as Sexual Identity and Same Sex Relationships. That way, preconceived ideas are easier to mash up and throw out the proverbial window.
For those of you who know, and or are interested, my Dad's op on his foot went well. Except the darling man decided to go to work, walk across a parking lot and basically get all sorts of nasties trapped in his not completely closed cast. This, coupled with the fact that he has no immune system due to being on methotrexate (for rheumatoid arthritis) led to him getting septicemia. No worried, all is well and he no longer has a deformed foot excreting pus and other nasty body fluids all over the place. He also is behaving like a good patient and we have decided that he may indeed fly to Portugal next Sunday. If you are about to ask whether he is in shape to fly from Durban to Johannesburg to Dubai to Portugal the answer is a resounding No. But who is to argue with stubborn and at least this gives me the house to myself for 10 days. Well, my lovely siblings will be around but I am never really at home the same time as them so its pretty much the same thing.
On that note, I did promise videos but I didn't have time.
So, here is one from Impossible Astronaut day (or at least the day after)
and then the promised two minute (*ahem* it is two minutes if you fast foreward it on double speed) rant on Doctor Who Season 7!
Well, that is it from me for now.

It is really a sign of a sad life when you have to pretend to be someone else. It is a worse sign when you have to pretend to be someone else and you do a poor job about it.

So, Dad had foot reconstruction surgery. He is now an amputee because they had to remove part of his gross semi-deformed big toe for balance issues.
However, they sent him for an emergency MRI. Could be for a stroke, or tumor. Who knows. I am still in favor that the heady combination of drugs my darling dad is on is what is causing his reduced reflexes and dizzy spells but I don't have a degree in medicine. I am also arguing that my dad is not depressed as the man wouldn't know how to be depressed if you show him and they are treating the wrong thing. Once again, i am looking at thing holistically rather than singularly. I think I need to chat to my dads shrink. I mean, it is easy enough as she is my shrink.

So was typing in the What are you thinking right now thread and I realized that I am thinking all sorts of random things in my endeavor to procrastinate writing up a motivational letter for a bursary. So I figured why not write some of these weird and wonderful things down in the form of a blog seeing as I am missing kung fu extra training again due to the fact that I am tired as all hell.
I am not tired from doing strenuous things, my dad is the in hospital and he has this stalker chick who started phoning the hospital at all hours last night because my dad put his phone off and she couldnt harrass him that way. So middle of the night we get a frantic phone call from the hospital so na - and in mid typing I had to go answer the incessant ringing home phone because the stalker chick phones there too and all just to have the phone slammed down in my ear - anyway, so naturally my mom and myself were in a panic because the freaking hospital is calling and my dad is not the healthiest of men all to find out that the nurses were getting concerned because some woman kept calling claiming to be my mom then putting the phone down when they dragged my dad out to bed to the nurses station.
Please don't give me sympathy for my dad being in hospital. it is a major relief. he is renowned for his temper which has shortened due the the immense pain he is. rather he be in hospital where they can control the pain than me have to defend family members from his wrath. It saves him the guilt as well as excess hospital trips. My dad is not abusive just by the way, he is just a man with a short fuse in unbelievable pain.
So yeah, that lead me not being prepared for lectures as the phone has not stopped ringing. it is ringing again now but i am ignoring it because fuck. so my lecturer shat on us then went on about how wonderful African culture is and how westerners came in and fucked it up and apartheid and I was like fucking hell that was 20years ago. I don't care. I WANT SLEEP!
Which is probably just because i needed sleep as this was the second late night. the first late night was because Arroia, Lumo and I decided to play hair dresser. which resulted in me having a purple cabbage on the top of my hair. its more like purple coleslaw without the mayo but after writing in the thread i now have a picture in my head of me after a facial and coleslaw hair. my head goes to weird places sometimes. I mean -
and that was my dad calling with a new cellphone number which is family only and laughing because i told him i shat on whoever was phoning. I actually hope that that time it wasn't a family member who tried to call and I screamed down the phone. i have a temper too you see and i can be quite viscous. i also bear grudges. so i am becoming a grumpy old woman. who bears grudges. and has a bad temper.

Well, obviously not exactly. He is twice my size, black hair and a guy. duh. I am tiny for my family, blonde and a girl.
I don't know if any of you realized I am a girl. You know, because there are no girls on the internet. at all.
So i am rambling and procrastinating and should be training because i am grading in three months and am no where near ready. not to mention the demo that is happening in two weeks and i am doing a form i only completed a couple weeks ago. so, now that i am fully immersed in writing mode and have some of the things going through my head come out i guess i should go motivate someone to pay for me to study.
When really, all I want is a hug.
Okay, going back now, putting some pictures up and maybe some sentences and paragraphs.

Basically, I am pretty much on the whole pro-testing bandwagon. As well as fully against any stereotyping and judgement on HIV.

- HIV is now a chronic disease. This means you can lead a normal functioning life if you are HIV positive.
- HIV does not discriminate. It doesn't care what socio-economic class you belong to and it definitely does not care who you are having sex with.
- HIV needs three criteria to be filled in order for infection to take place. These criteria are: an infected person with a high viral count, an open wound and an appropriate time-span.
- There is high risk behavior and low risk behavior. High risk behavior involves penetrative sex (anal and vaginal) as well as sharing of needles. Things like thigh sex, oral sex and mutual masturbation are considered low risk
- STI's are gateways to HIV infection (as they usually create some kind of wound). Going for regular STI checks is as important as being tested for HIV. Some STI's can show no obvious physical symptoms
Using protection, minimizing risks and looking after yourself no matter who you are is important.

So, pretty much new month and I was going to do an epic blog of epicness.
Well, my first idea was to do a blog on Harry Potter.
Then I thought seeing as G occasionally reads these blogs, I would do a whole blog on engagement rings and proposals to freak him out (because I am a good girlfriend like that)
However, then I came across this video
So, I have decided that I am going to give it a try. 1s every day of my life. At the end of the month I shall try post the video (obviously this is dependent on how much footage I actually get).
And on a completely different note:
As from today I am back to being a full time University Student.
I don't know who knows what, I am going to assume you are all ignorant. So yeah, I started my honours in Psychology two years ago via a correspondence University. The first year went okay. The second year was a total failure.
So I thought stuff it, I am either going to give up or go to a proper University full time. So I applied. Now what you need to know is that it is extremely difficult to get into a University Post-Grad course even having done your Post-Grad at said University. It is practically unheard of that University take students from other Universities for Post-Grad.
So yeah, *happy dance* I got in Out of 105 students, I am one of 4 who came from another University.
So yeah, that's my happy news.
Hopefully will update soon.

Wow, another year already. Time really does fly when you are running around like a headless chicken trying to get things done and sort out businessy type things.
I have to admit my holiday was definitely much needed. I feel more revived, more energetic, more... ah, hell, who am I kidding? I got lazy and now that I have to do things again I feel like pulling a five year old temper tantrum.
So, today was back to the Crossfit box where I could barely do a pushup. Okay, so that might be an over exaggeration but my god it was tough. You would think I have never worked out before.
Tomorrow dawns the new Kung Fu year and horror of horrors: It is a Grading Year.
Which means lots and lots of fun filled stress. And training. Lots of training. Thinking about it makes me feel tired and sleepy.
it doesn't help that the awesome Sub-Tropical Heat of Death has hit us, and the humidity zaps your strength and will all while causing you to bake in your own skin.
However, I do have Diablo III and Dawn of War: Retribution to keep me occupied. The former clocking more game time naturally. I have also ordered a copy of Skyrim so while all you gamers out there play the expansion, I am actually going to play the game.
As for Dawn of War, well, it kinda started as a bit of a joke because my adorably handsome boything is completely addicted to it. Well, he is in love with the Warhammer 40,000 Universe in general. Thats right, I have to compete with a Space Marine.
Yeah, thats right, isn't he sexy?
As for me, I am favoring the Imperial Guard. I like being a boring human. So sue me.
I like playing the Force Commander as my champion. TBH though I haven't really given anyone else a try. Nor have I given another race a try.
I did start playing the Ork campaign.
However, it is pretty much exactly like the Imperial Guard Campaign (which I completed) so I am possibly not going to finish it.
So I am busy with Skirmishes against the AI. I am a bit scared of playing against other players. I don't feel like being told I am a complete noob. The boytoy assures me that people are a little nicer on DoW, but I have played enough LoL to be skeptical.
A little more gaming, but more xbox orientated. The boy and I are playing co-op Rayman Origins.
Which is surprisingly fun platform game.
If you don't believe me, Ben 'Yahtzee' Crowshore did a really cool video review comparison with Rayman Origins and Super Maria Adventure 3D Land.
Anyway, it is lots of fun, can hold up to four players and is pretty challenging at the same time as being really enjoyable.
And considering I can play it (and I suck at xbox) and the boy is still challenged (he lives on his xbox) it is a great co-op game.
Also, you can hit the other player. Which is great for stress relief
So other than that, I have pretty much been watching and re watching Doctor Who. I have started watching Fringe again, which is interesting.
On that note, I think I am going to go have a cold shower and possibly play a game or two of DoW.
