Has it really been SEVEN years since I sumbled blindly into the world of SG? I think these occasional revisits get me a little perspective (and a chance to laugh at my old pics).
Well. It may be hard to believe, but I am still living the life o' riley in Stockholm. Still designing. Still doing all the things I used to do, only with slightly less frequency due to work and life getting in the way.
I don't recognise anyone now. It truely is a mysterious place once more, but if you fancy saying hi I will gladly return the favour.
Fondest regards,
Greg

Erm. Not quite sure what has happened but I appear to back... A lot has changed since I last trod the boards on this site, it seems. Not restricted to the site itself. Let's try and condense the last three or four years into a quick update...
I now live in Stockholm, Sweden. I'll get round to adjusting those profile bits soon. I work as a graphic designer, still. A fact I can barely get my head around to be perfectly honest. I'm still waiting for the 'Ministry of Information' to crash through my wall and tell me the FUNTIMES are over,I should get a real job.
I am dating a stunning Swedish born Finn and have been for the past few years. I am extremely happy!
Hmm. I think I should really stop typing, for now and have a quick look to see if I recognise anyone here. Oh! To the mysterious benefactor who ressurected my account from the boneyard... Thank you. I had forgotten some of the good times I had here. Who knows, they may return with a 2009 flavour.
Love. x

I think this little adventure is drawing to a close... Fare thee well, folks. xxxx

I think it's high time I actually posted something of note here instead of just randomly popping by and noticing a whole lot of 'not very much'. Thankyou to the folk who do pass by and leave nice comments. It's people like yourselves who sustain that good sense of community the shadowy, commercial contingent would like to quash!
I've had an odd few months. I've met an astonishingly beautiful girl who takes up a lot of my time and quite rightly so. I met her on a trip to Stockholm and she is wonderful. I would never have had STockholm down as a romantic city having never been, but it was such a lovely surprise. My mental impression was one of concrete and sub-zero temperatures and little sunlight. As it happens, its a staggeringly beautiful city of contrasts. True, it does have its Swedish minimalism popping up now and again but its also perched on many little islands linked together with pretty bridges and walkways. The girl I met captured my heart completely. It was one of those online experiences which not only lived up to the mighty asperations you concoct in the confines of an online relationship but vastly exceeded it. I'm already planning a return visit for early 07. Right now I've booked a hotel in Manchester for her to visit me. December the 1st is the day. Frankly it can't come soon enough. Le sigh.
There's tonnes of other stuff which has neatly faded into insignificance. Oh yeah, I was in a train incident on Friday. A crunch of 'Murder She Wrote" pace with just as many old folk fretting. Coming out of manchester victoria the incline proved too much for our aging train. It simply struggled for just that extra minute giving a goods train enough time to bump the back of us. Queue people screaming and mobile phone screens to light up like Christmas Trees.
My cousins wedding the weekend before was a laugh. I love going down to Cardiff. It's another vastly underrated place. True it might look a bit of a dump, but the people make it such a fun place to visit. My cousin is a curator at the folk museum giving unparralleled access to the St Fagans site. His three site itenery included a fortified tudor castle, a 1000 year old mountain chapel and a victorian working mens club complete with skiffle band and drunken relatives. A good time was had by all. Prepare for a few photos when my film comes back from the chemist.
Anyway, despite the clocks going abck and it only being half one on a satruday night, the trip to the cinema has taken it out of me and I reckon I crawl into my pit... Dreaming of the daughter of Swedish ballet stars and majestic encounters in mundane surroundings. Love ya...

It's about time for another update.
Plenty of bits and bobs have happened since London, most of which are far too trivial to bother listing, but since very few people read my journal, here goes.
Went to a cool burlesque night in Manchester, worked, slept, ate.
Went to a great gig in Liverpool for the Matthew Street music festival. Got torrents of abuse for not looking like a pissed scouser. Went home, ate slept.
Went to Voodoo at the retro bar. Got into a scuffle regarding some unpleasant remarks made about my sister. Left under a cloud.. Inadvertantly causing a complete outbreak of fisticuffs. Worked.
Went to a cool rock n roll night at Denton Labour Club. Picture Pheonix Nights and you're half way there.. Ace, its full of hard faced old Teds who now have the money to run huge Yank Tanks in immaculate condition. Saw an Elvis Special performer.
Went to the burlesque night again... Purely to support our local troupe "Lady Luck's Burlesque Beauties". It's so very civilised... Plus it gives me a great reason to bother getting dressed up. Something I'm rather enjoying at the moment.
I could go on for longer, but you can see patterns immerging, so I won't.
As for today, well, I've just been attempting to make a few new friends but since I've isolated myself away from the goth/metal/etc lot and diasappeared up my own 'elitist arse' it's proving very difficult not to get ignored. The site really is cumbersome and unecessarily cluttered. How I yearn for an ability to search keywords in peoples profiles just to prove to myself I do have some interests, musically and otherwise with people on this site. Le sigh. I'm off to eat, before working again tomorow.

Yum yum!
Hello again.
Just a very quick update to say I enjoyed seeing The Cramps an awful lot yesterday. We had a great time, although I'm not sure how much longer The Cramps will be a band. I know they've split NUMEROUS times before, but subtle (and not so subtle) hints peppered the performance.
London is officially the home of "RIP OFF BRITAIN" and the absolute masters of luring you in with pretty things and shiny bands. Damn it, hotel prices take the piss as does the cost of everything else. Other than the dodgy stomach I now have as a result of a fine Camden eatery, it was a good couple of days. Praise be, it will be some time again until I need to next be there.
Oh, much hellos and howdys to Munch et al. Very nice to briefly meet you again! Hope ya had a blast!
Anyways, it's utterly peeing it down, as befits any trip back up North. I think I'm going to leave a tap running to combat out overflowing reservoirs!
Have a good one... I will.

Lord, it's high time for an update...
I'm currently zinging through this rather furious heatwave with the thought if this lot carries on I'll par-boil myself before I get to see the FRIGGIN' Cramps at the Astoria! So excited. I do believe they've just been dispatched. On the same night I slpurged ROYALLY on tickets for VLV 07. Dear goodness, expect me to crow on about that from now onwards... Not to annoying levels though
Just trying to think of other things. Well, we found a tiny little burlesque club in Manchester. It's pretty well hidden away, but definitely worth hunting down. The first part of the evening bore witness to Vampsinthe attempting swing dance lessons. Hahahhhaa.. ohh. Aint going to happen. I can bop til I drop, but count in threes? No fuckin' chance.
I also started driving lessons. I took the plunge looking at my Beeza and reading a few horror stories on some forum or other. "the d14/4s hates the heat, it hates ice, the cold.. Wind is somewhat of a problem, rain isn't good either. Dense traffic may cause issues under heavy braking, as for snow, forget it." etc. I always knew a 40 year old motorbike may not be up to the 'safe' handling of modern road bikes, but... Jeeze! I'm still getting back on the bastard when it's in one piece again.
Anything to tell me? Any news? It seems I'm having issues getting the navigation sorted on here now. I just don't find browsing other journals and pic sets as intuitive or fun as it used to be... Any hints? As for the new IE7, what a pile of shite, theres ALWAYS a whole page of SG with only the background to look at, got to scroll to find the banner. Why isn't that aligned to the top for goodness sake. Not going back to SIX though. Maybe I should just be done with it and buy a mac...
Right, it's far too hot for this nonsense. I'm off to listen to the Nekromatix in the garden. Got some chavvy neighbours with yappie "Paris Hilton" dogs to piss off..
ps, Pirates 2 is great.. Jarrr, throwin' chocolate dubloons and flying peg legs were sadly missing from our showing (although not the night before, which resulted in TC bans for some of my friends!)
A luego, amigos!

Hello All,
just a quick message to update you on my trip to the fearsome Med. Calella is a great little town just outside Barca. The Screamin' Festival was absolutely fantastic! Where else can you enjoy Santos, Omar and the Stringpoppers, the Cadillac Trio, the Four Charms AND Janis Martin? The music, dancing, hot-rods, weather, company just blew me away. It's excatly how festivals SHOULD be. Fun, friendly and not so over-exploited as to remove the enjoyment.
As soon as they release the information I'm definitely booking for 07's Screamin'! It was amazing meeting up with Voodoodoll. Especially to put right the things which weren't so good. It could have spoilt things for her, but I'm sure it's nothing that needs repeating here!
Got a couple of ace pieces of vinyl and cds while I was out there. The Go-Getters, Santos, Adam and his Nuclear Rockets and a Great Bear records compilation.
I think thats about it for now. Saturday should be great fun. heading down to Liverpool to have a couple of beers with Brogan on her birthday then going back to Manchester to see the Cat-House Creepers at Hell-kat. Should be one hell of a night. If you're stuck for something to do, DEFINITELY check it out!
Adios mi amigos! Hasta Luego.

Huzzah.
Howdy everyone. I trust you're all having a great Wednesday. Mines been pretty good.
I've just booked a trip to Barcelona for the 9th June. Yus, I'm off to the Screamin festival in Calella. Just sorting my flights out. I have a feeling there aren't any reasonable flights from Manchester, so I'll have to get to Speke in Liverpool. Personally, with the company I'm meeting out there I'm going to have one of the best weekends of my life.
A hot girl, barbeques by the poolside, fantastic music, classic cars 'n rods and iimucho cervezas!!
This Saturday gone was mental. Got very drunk and had a total blast. I was directing some friends in from 'the sticks' in the Salisbury. Bob of the Hyperjax and a few friends were standing opposite. They commented on my drape (the £30 one from TK MAXX
) Bob's mate was only bloody Sparky from Demented Are Go!
Couldnt believe it, two bonafide rock leg-ends chatting away. I think I briefly rescued them from a discussion over the way on waxing lady bits...
Nevertheless many beers were drunk and The Grit truly rocked our little Hellkat club.
Anyway, I'm off to try n book some flights so, I'll pop back later when I'm done hopefully.
Oh, buy the Th* Legendary Shackshakers album, because it is like a rocket up the arse and an explosion in an orchestra pit. Immense.
Love ya. xx

Guess what? I'm back.
I'm just re-aquainting myself with the place. You'll have to bear with me while I find my way around again. Looks pretty samey same, only BIGGER!!!
There's been tonnes happening I can't even begin to start documenting 'em. Let's just say I'm mobile and stuff.
For the few remaining friends who haven't jumped overboard. I've missed you. Can't wait to see if anyone remembers me.
